SunTouch 500110 Insulated 10K Floor Heating Thermostatic Sensor Wire for SunStat, Gray

I got this to replace a sensor that wasn't installed correctly, and I didn't have access from below, so I had to grind out the grout from between floor tiles and install it there. The problem is the plastic housing of the sensor itself is much thicker than typical tile spacing -- the wire fit fine, but not the end. Fortunately, the extra plastic can be cut off, leaving the sensor intact and still protected. This allowed it to slip between tiles and be covered by new grout.

While running a new electrical branch in a wall I damaged my original sensor wire. We have a basement, so I have access to the floor from below. I notched out a small section of subfloor (about 1/4" x 1.5"), glued the replacement sensor into the notch, and ran the wire back to the original control. The floor is working great again.

Seems to be made pretty solid. Thought it was a little pricey, but had to have it.

Bought this as a “backup” sensor for a warm wire installation. The sensor wire is a duplicate of the sensor received from warm wire and is in 5he floor should the first sensor 3ver fail. Cheap insurance.
