I tend to loose notes of things to do left on scraps of paper, this product is designed to replace that need with a visible, pocket-sized electronic pad which captures those lists. One of its key purposes is to aid the deaf community, allowing greater communication. I can certainly see how everyday messages such as "Cup of tea" or "Peg the washing out" might be assisted by the use of this product, which will slip into a shirt pocket easily. It works on a similar basis to the old 'Etch-a-sketch' toy, but with a stylus that clips to the side of the boogie board rather than dials. You simply write the note on the screen and it keeps it there until you press the 'Clear' button - no record facility, no ability to connect to a printer by (say) a USB to print the screen contents out.Positives - The overall size (around 14.5cm x 8cm) fits snugly in a shirt pocket. The device is noticeable, meaning I remember to use it rather than loose scraps of paper. It's of particular use to deaf or partially deaf users. The stylus can be clipped on to either left or right meaning suitable for both right and left-handed people.Negatives - No way of getting into the device to replace the battery, once it's dead it's dead. The screen size (around 9cm x 6.5cm) isn't the biggest. It's not magnetic, which would be a boon for securing to the fridge. It's a bit overpriced for what it is.I think a lot here depends on how much use you intend to get for the product. If you need to write things to communicate it could be a boon. For the casual, occasional user however a wipe-clean board in the kitchen may well fulfill the same requirement at significantly lower cost.

I had been going to return this as I thought it was too small but changed my mind and decided I could work with the size. However now, less than a month after purchase, it has stopped clearing so I am returning it after all.

My kids love these little Lcd boards. They do eventually stop working. This is a replacement one for one that just died. Disappointed that the new ones don't come with the protective cover. I would still highly recommend them for keeping kids entertained while at a restaurant or cafe.

I bought this for my niece and she loves it.It's quite small, so great for a kid but if you're buying for an adult you might want to look at a bigger version, though this would fit well in a bag.The screen quality is very good and clear.
