Taking a Bath with the Dog and Other Things that Make Me Happy

This book was a little more simple than I thought it would be. But, my six year old grandson was intrigued with the title, and the outlandish and laughable suggestions for happiness. We have been able to use the book as a springboard to discussions about what makes us happy, what makes us sad, why we want to be happier, how we can make others happy, etc. it is a good book for prompting conversations.

I got this book for my 5-year old daughter who has been having a hard time adjusting to Kindergarten and has generally been down and negative. It made her smile and helps us all to focus on the small things in life that bring happiness. The little girl goes around asking people what makes them happy. One man says "Stripes" and he is hilariously decked out in stripes from head to foot, the dog says "Taking a bath", a bat says "Sleeping upside down". The illustrations and text are really funny and light. Highly recommend.

This is another book I bought for my granddaughters (2, 3, and almost 4) and another they all love. We have a great time thinking of things that make us happy. The youngest is going through the "terrible twos" and when she's in a snit we start talking about things that make us happy and she often comes out of it in no time. We laugh about taking a bath with the dog because my dog HATES her bath and it would not make anyone happy to bathe with her! Very sweet book and I'd definitely recommend it.

This is the cutest story! It's a great funny story and opens up conversation easily about what makes us happy. The pictures are bright and fun and really holds my kids attention!

My five year old nephew LOVES this book. He has a little dog and has since taken a baths with her. Makes them both happy!

My 2.5 year old daughter loves this book. She has memorized the pages and requests it all the time.

This book was recently add to my "gramma collection". Great artistry, and a fantastic means to discuss fixing bad attitudes.

This is a very good book. In this book a little girl takes a journey to find out what makes her happy. She asks many people before finding out all the things that she enjoys. My 20 month old asks me read this book over and over. She esspecially likes when the little girl takes a bath with the dog at the end of the story!

Like reading this early in school year to introduce zones.
