Tesa 4970 Double Sided Tape - Extremely pleased with this tape. I have been using it for years.
I have used this particular one-half inch tape for well over twenty years and it has been an excellent double sided tape. It holds items very well and the tape is relatively easy to remove - unless it has been adhered for several weeks. Small pieces of the tape work very well for holding a template used in routing. Subjecting it to heat will cause it to lose holding strength. An excellent shelf life, if kept in a cupboard out of the sun and heat.

Great mounting tape with strong adhesion and very thin film that leaves practically no gap.
I use this tape to mount aluminum on baltic plywood.Pros:-very thin film, minimal gap perceived if at all.-much faster and cleaner than using Gorilla glue or similar glue.-strong adhesion as I tested one strip on aluminum / wood and 1/8 aluminum piece was totally bent when i was finally able to pry it off.Cons:-none perceived yet, but one can suppose that the tape would not resist as well as more permanent glue in the long run.

Great product, not as picture in the product photo.
I was looking for Tesa's clear tackified acrylic double sided and wound up with this one, which is white. It works great and I have found several uses for it. It just won't work for what I purchased it for, because I needed that to be clear!

Best tape for school use
My classroom walls are an odd texture that NOTHING sticks to except tesa tape. I share it with the other teachers on my team and we will need more soon because we use it for everything! It holds paper, plastic, posters, canvas type materials, and even heavier things like small bulletin boards. It is also easily removable.

Doesn’t work on plastics
I roughed up the backside plastic case on my TV and tried to attach a plastic TV cable box (light weight) using this tape. It wouldn’t stick. It fell off after about an hour.

I'm always up for something better. I saw this tape mentioned on a repair ...
Though I've been using "red tape" for quite some time to adhere iPad digitizers...and with decent success, I'm always up for something better. I saw this tape mentioned on a repair forum and thought I'd give it a try. I can get the red tape in most any width, down to 1mm. This Tesa tape doesn't seem to be available in such a variety of widths so I'm having to custom cut pieces. That's no problem if it does it's job. Spending a few extra minutes on the initial repair beats having to go back and re-adhere a corner that has raised up. So far, I have had no issues with corners raising up. I still use red tape in areas where 2mm is needed. It's a bit tough trying to cut the Tesa tape into strips that narrow. FWIW, the "raising up" issue is often due to the iPad corners being beat up more than I can fix completely or the body being bowed, causing pressure that might make a part of the touchscreen pull away from the metal. Some of those things really take a beating.
