Love love love this trash can, yea, never thought I would be saying that word when talking about a trash can! Large capacity, hands free operation, blends in with my kitchen appliances, and keeps the odours contained.Unfortunately, it crapped out on me by May 2022 (purchased March 2020). Bummer, as it was pretty much useless at that point. Had to keep the lid open to keep using it...yea not a good image and definitely not hygienic with kids and all.Contacted customer service and Anna was really helpful even though the product was out of warranty. They shipped me a new lid and voila, all is well again at la famillia **insert last name** :D I'm already wondering what would happen if this one craps out in a year or two...in a perfect world, GLAD would have incorporated a back up manual operation mode- don't ask me how, I'm no trash can expert, just a trash can lover apparently!

I purchased three of these and I’m generally very satisfied with the product. David mechanism functions well, the bag is held in place securely, and it generally does work as advertised. However, the gear mechanism on one of my cans died prematurely. It was outside of the Amazon return., But not long after. The manufacturers customer service was excellent and they promptly shipped me a replacement, which works as advertised. All in all, a good product (excellent, if the defect I discovered does not occur in any of the others) and outstanding customer service.

It works finally a garbage can I can get behind. Batteries not included , but once you easy to assemble and put on the batteries, you never have to touch the lid or pedal yahooo swipe your hand over and it opens. I only have to change the garbage every 2 weeks there is only me and it's perfect. It keeps the odour control and I never have to touch it. Yahooo. Arrived on time no problems , there was a small dent and I just pushed it out and back to normal. Recommendations yes.

Great can - huge capacity- almost silent operation huge lid opening when it opens. Sturdiness is excellent except when you open the top to take the bag out it seems a bit flimsy - it is fine and seems to be easier each time - maybe it’s the way I do it but anyway that’s why I didn’t only gave 3 stars for sturdiness. We’ve had other brands of auto open cans and this is by far the best!!

I purchased this garbage can in June of 2021. It has worked flawlessly until February of 2022, at which point it stopped opening. You can hear it trying to open, grinding gears, but it doesn't open. There is no manual way to open the can, so it is now useless. I don't believe a 150.00 garbage can should last less than a year, which is why the 1 star. I have emailed Volume Brands, as you can't seem to do anything through amazon for an order this old, and we will see if they do anything. If they resolve the issue I will gladly change my review, as I say up until this week it has worked flawlessly.Contacted Volume Brands and they have Warrantied the Garbage Can. I have adjusted my rating to a 4 out of 5. Still should not have given up after 9 months, but at least they are standing behind their product and replacing it.
