We got the 100 box thinking these would last us all summer. We used almost the whole box in 3 days, enough for 6 fires, 3 small AM and 3 large PM. They burn for the stated amount of time, they light... decently well. They fall apart easily though and they just don't get quite hot enough to really start a fire unless you use a good amount of them - and we were using very dry large wood pieces along with a ton of small dry tinder pieces. They got us through our trip, but my husband said "don't buy these ones again".

I love fire starters. I’ve used them for the last 20years to help me start my woodstove in the morning and whenever I need to start it.The test of a good fire starter for me is, number one, do they burn a good long time? These seem to fill that bill quite nicely. Number two, are they easy to light ? Again these fire starters are very easy to light which is a big plus. I have some, the starter loggs which I’ve been using for a long time, which burn well but are very difficult to start. Their number one selling point is if they are quite inexpensive and readily available at my local Walmart. Another question for me is whether my wife can use them without having to use a whole lot of them to start a fire. So far these fire starters are also wife friendly. So, all in all, I recommend these fire starters for anyone interested in easy to start, long lasting, and wife friendly starters.

I bought these only because the Rutland brand I usually buy wasn't available. I like that these are individual pieces, rather than coming on a sheet that has to be broken up. However, and maybe because of that, the box was crushed in shipping and they spilled out all inside of the shipping box. They do stay lit long enough to catch my firewood but my biggest complaint is that they take about 30 seconds to light. That's a long time standing there with a lighter waiting for a 'fire starter' to light. My normal brand lights after about three seconds. So all in all not the worst product in a pinch but I'll stick to Rutland when it's available.

I see a lot of reviews about people crying that these are too weak. It's a fire STARTER, not an insta-bonfire. Don't expect it to be like a blowtorch that will engulf an entire tree in flames with one cube. You still need to start with smaller wood and kindling then build the fire to the size you want. This simply gives you a long-lasting flame to build it up. I keep these in my camper in a sealed container and they work great!
