it was fun to put together.
it was a very good model, of a rarely seen starship.

Probably the 5th one of these I’ve bought. Taking my time this time with these terrible decals. So far so good

Not as bad as it sounds...actually it turned out GREAT!
Don't be deterred by the naysayers, this snap-together actually can turn out pretty good (I'll post some pictures later)! However, I do agree that it did take quite a bit more effort than one would expect from a snap-together model. The model itself was quite easy to assemble (adding glue does help it stay together better). A good bit of the time was spent on applying the decals because...well...there are a lot of them! The decals aren't nearly as fragile as other people make it sound (though you should still be careful!)and they provide lots of good detail. Also, they are transluscent, so if for example, the windows were painted before decal application, they would show through (...I was VERY relieved when I found that out...)! There are a couple of decals (top of saucer section decal nearly covers that entire part!) that may require splitting up to handle them easier.Though it says paint isn't required, the lighted portions of the warp engines, deflector, phaser strips, and shuttle bay doors are not painted or decaled... so you will need some form of blue/red/grey paint if you want those colored. And I DEFINATELY recommend painting those details before applying the decals(better to clean paint off the plastic than decaled plastic!)!The only problem I have with this model involves the windows. They are molded into the plastic, aren't detailed by the decals and therefore require painting if you want to see them well. It was a PAIN to paint all those windows and it required something with the very fine point (even a fine-tip permanent mark, like the instructions recommend, was too big!). This is the only reason why I won't rate this any higher (though painting those windows DID make it look nicer!)So, all in all, I enjoyed putting this thing together and would definately recommend it (even though painting those windows was horrible!)!

Yesterdays Decals
The model itself is not too bad I would recommend using glue to put this together. There are a couple of fit issues mainly with the secondary hull. The saucer attachment point can be a little tricky and may need some putty to make it look right not to mention that the nacelles will also need some sanding and I would suggest to cut off the alinement pegs as they don't line up well. No stand included so you'll have to fashion one yourself. The decals well, other than the Name and Registry #, all the others, through those in the trash and use paint to detail your model. The decals are horrible and no amount of setting solution will assist them and I am not sure if any amount of decal bonder would help either, the decals just fall apart as if they were tissue paper and after only being sprayed with water they do not want to sit down and stick as if they have no adhesive and yes I made sure to have a gloss coat, not my first rodeo. If you want a test bed to improve your painting skills then this is a good inexpensive option. Above all have fun and Happy modeling.

I think this model would be great in the trash
Okay so this product gets four out of five stars. That being said, I just got home from work and put this together, their was only one part I had trouble with and that was the secondary hull assembly. I had to use glue on that part, and on the neck attaching to the saucer section. I dont remember the Enterprise ever being blue, I think it was grey, and I may repaint it tomorrow before I finish and attach all the separate parts. I think this model would be great for a child, however a person who is intermediate like me at model building I think it was a little bland. IT was easy to put together, and the only issue there is the secondary hull. The plastic is not colored right from what my memory says, and I will need to repaint it. I want to note why this did not get a five star rating, no stand. I will have to either build one, or order one, and that is the only reason this did not get five out of five stars. I am in no way dissatisfied with the product, or the shipping, this product was what it said on the box, all the things I said about it above were things I as a model builder noticed. Thank you Amazon, and thank you AMT.So everything above was written last night, before I tried to assemble the decals on the hull. All the upper hull is one big decal. I got the decal off and it was like the sheet had been through a shredder. I was ashamed I bought the model because the decals were so God awful. I had no trouble with the polar lights decals, not for the Reliant, or the original Enterprise, but the decals for this ship are the reason it will be going in the trash. What a shame, if the model was bigger I would have went to get a supplemental sheet from federation models or something, but this model is just awful on decals, the assembly is ok at best.

Round 2 AMT Star Trek Enterprise 1701-C 1:2500
Great representation of the Enterprise and a great part of my collection of Star Trek ships. Plan to collect as many Star Trek ships as possible.

Disappointed
Totally disappointed with this. Decals are very very fragile, most won't stick to the model. Won't be ordering from this maker again.
