Great pocket knife!
This is a very nice-looking pocket knife made with Damascus steel. The knife is heavy and sits well on your hand. There is no wobbling of the blade once opened. The blade size is perfect for carrying the knife daily with you. The locking mechanism works well and, once opened, prevents the blade from closing accidentally. The handle is rugged and sturdy. The case that comes with the knife makes carrying the knife easier. The quality of the case is mediocre, but it’s better than nothing. On the other hand, the wooden box that comes with the knife looks very nice, making this pocket knife an excellent gift option.

It IS Damascus, but the overall knife feels unfinished.
I put this under my microscope, and it is Damascus. It looks like there's around 45 layers of steel with a solid core. It's a like it's a sandwich of three sections - 1/3 Damascus, 1/3 solid core, then 1/3 Damascus again. The edge is ground into the core.My complaint is the finishing. Where the horn section meets the Damascus section on the handle, there's a slight gap on one side. That same side has a ledge - the horn is slightly thicker than the Damascus. Enough that you can clearly see and feel it. The horn is lower quality - it looks more like amber - that's nice - but there's no texture except on a few spots and these look more like mistakes. They detract from the knife. There's no catch or flipper to open the blade, so you need to use two hands - and it's difficult to open. There's no ballbearing, and if you place your ear next the blade when opening, you can hear the pivot grinding. There was a lot of polishing or buffing compound on the knife - so much so that I thought it was rusting. It even filled the holes the screws are inset into. The compound is in the pivot and the locking mechanism - you can see the blade release scratching up after a few uses. For the price, this needed another 20 minutes of work - removing the compounds, sanding and fitting the handle better, and working on that too-tight pivot.

BOX SAYS "MADE IN CHINA"
This is pretty, it is sharp from the box, and as expected the handle/scales are different than pics...which is fine since natural materials vary a lot. It's well shaped as a gentleman's knife and for some reason reminds me of a buck 110.However I'm unsure of the knifes origin and the veracity of the "Damascus" claim. Why.... well 1st of all the advertising says "Japanese Damascus steel" which indicated to me that the knife was of Japanese origin...nope box clearly states in big gold letters "MADE IN CHINA".But what about the "Damascus" part? Well Damascus is made via layering steel, folded over and over to make a pattern, give it character and is usually organically shaped. No two pieces are exactly the same it doesn't work that way. Mysteriously this blade has exactly the same pattern as the photo which is definitely a different knife than the one I got. While very pretty I strongly suspect that this is an etched Damascus looking pattern instead of genuine layered steel Damascus. Is that a huge difference and deal...YES.Because your paying for Damascus and getting basically a stencil

Didn’t come sharp. Looks nice.
Knife looks pretty nice, lock up is firm. Kind of stiff opening. Didn’t come very sharp, I was able to fix that with some stropping, would make a good gift.

Ottimo prodotto
