Wonderful bench
As a septuagenarian I needed help to assemble this, and my friend said it was very easy to assemble. It looks great! The customer service was exceptional and the shipping was very fast. I would recommend this product and this company without hesitation.

Just what we hoped for
This is a beautiful, well constructed and surprisingly comfortable glider. We assembled it in just over an hour and a half. Mostly the instructions were clear and easy to follow. There were a couple small errors in the directions, and a few pre-drilled holes that needed to be cleaned out, but nothing significant. We treated it with clear coat and, just like the description says, it darkened it slightly and brought out the red highlights. We love this glider -- it was just what we hoped for.

Well made and excellent fit.
Good quality material. Partially assembled. The rest of the glider parts were a perfect, tight fit. Just a light hammer, a couple of wrenches and a phillips screwdriver is all that is needed. Takes about 45 minutes to assemble.

Very comfy - bad directions
Lovely bench, perfect for 2, comfy and good quality. Why not 5 stars? Assembly directions were bad, center screws did not align from back to seat, no plugs to cover screw holes for armrests. It definitely needed 2 people for assembly to hold things in place and screw holes weren’t aligned. We used a few Allen wrenches to stick thru/fish thru the holes to get alignment (skinnier than the screws) and the pushed and in some places hammered the screws through.

Great sturdy glider & the best customer service I've ever encountered
First, I'm not sure why some other reviewers raise the possibility of whether this glider is sturdy enough to last when they've only just purchased it. I purchased a red cedar glider identical to this one in 1995. I lived in Chicago. The glider was unfinished, in a sunny area, never protected from the weather. I moved it to central Texas in 2006 where we again had it in a sunny area, never protected from the weather. It was just fine for 28 years until an ice storm dropped a tree on it 2 months ago. If it wasn't for the tree, it would still be on my patio. I replaced it with this Kilmer Creek glider. The glider was shipped the same day I ordered. However, the one we received was damaged in transit. I contacted the seller thru amazon. He responded promptly, no questions asked, by shipping me a replacement back the SAME DAY & provided me with tracking so I'd know when to expect the replacement back. This is a great glider. I expect it will last at least 30 years. I almost wish I needed more patio furniture so I could purchase from Kilmer Creek. Maybe next ice storm...

Good Glider - Terrible Instructions
I like the glider. It seems to be well made, and it came well-packed and undamaged. I stained it before assembling, since it's easier to do a good job staining before putting it together. There are only a few pieces to assemble, so I figured it would be a snap to assemble. It wasn't too difficult, but the difficulty came in that the instructions were atrocious! I had read others' reviews where they said that the instructions were bad, but they were able to get the slider assembled anyway. I'm above average when it comes to being mechanically inclined, so I ordered the glider. But once I started assembling it, I just shook my head at the instructions. Starting with the seat assembly, they referenced seven 3-inch bolts in the instructions, but they only include three in the parts. They did include four 3-1/4 inch bolts, but never referenced them in the instructions. They said they included two 4-inch bolts, but the instructions never called for them, and there was only 1 of them in the kit anyway! Moving now to installing the gliding brackets between the seat and the glider base. To start with, they say that they provide 8 carriage bolts to install the brackets; they are not carriage bolts; they are hex bolts. They actually include a diagram of how the bolts should be installed with respect to the washers and nuts. If you do it their way, they rub on the wood when you move the glider. There's a proper way to install the bolts, and the way they show in the instructions is not the way.So what's my bottom line? I like the slider. The wood seems to be good quality cedar, and seems to be well made. If you are mechanically inclined, you won't have any trouble getting it put together once you realize that the instructions will confuse you more than illuminate you. Look at the illustrations, but don't try to get any direction from reading the instructions. In the end, the length of the bolt doesn't matter; just use whatever seems to suit you best. This glider would have been very easy to assemble had it not been for the misdirection provided in the assembly instructions. It's almost like they are deliberately trying to confuse you.

Still loving it after 3 years
It was a little effort to assemble, but totally worth it. Has weathered well in foggy San Francisco.

Comfortable wooden glider!
Despite reviews saying that it was hard to assemble or missing parts, ours came with all the needed parts and hardware. My husband put it together easily. The back, seat, and arms are assembled. You just have to put the base together and then attach the rest of it. It did require some light sanding, and I'd recommend staining or painting if it will be exposed to the elements. My husband sanded and used clear polyurethane on it and it's beautiful. Comfortable, sturdy, and quiet! A cushion can be added for comfort. Very pleased with this!
