Life time of service
You can't go wrong with cast iron. Had an aluminium pan before, didn't take long before the coating started chipping off rendering it useless. One of the reviews complained that the cooking surface was rough. Well any cast product will never be perfect. Mine wasn't perfect, it had small imperfections. So out came the disk sander and away went the dimples. I re-seasoned the pan, then came the test. Cracked an egg into it. No sticking! Looking forward to many years of service.

Pretty freaking amazing...
A bit deformed on the bottom. Manufacturing defects maybe. Wifey didnt like it. Cooking surface was fine. Called Amazon. They rectified it. Amazon is pretty amazing... weren't a fan before but sure is now...We use cuisinart steam convection oven. Max is 12 inch. This fits perfect semi side way aka diagonal... does beautifully...

Its cast iron, so it will last forever. However, it needs some improvement...
First things first, this item is cast iron, it is thick, it is heavy, and will last forever.Unfortunately, the finish quality of the item will necessitate that you do some work to truly make this a daily user. The texture of the cast iron itself is rather coarse. This seems to be from the quality of the mold that was used when casting it. The "seasoning" that is on the item when you get it from the box, is very poor quality, and burns off on its own at normal baking temperatures. This will unfortunately also leave a taste on your food.My recommendation, if you need a cast iron pan of this size/shape, is to buy it, but be prepared to have to spend a few days, or a weekend improving the finish of the inside surfaces. For example, thoroughly scrub the item to get off some of the seasoning that comes on it. Then, take some sand paper, or other abrasive to the inside baking surfaces to remove any of the uneven or rough texture. Then, after another thorough scrubbing, completely re-season the entire pan. Plan for at least 3 cycles through your oven for the seasoning process.

CRACKED right down the middle the first time I put it on my stovetop
Firstly, I love Cuisinart products. Everything from my cookware to my air fryer is a Cuisinart. So when I was looking for a cast iron griddle to cook my steaks on, I saw Cuisinart made one and I was all in.Not much to this story other than THE FIRST TIME I put this on my cooktop to heat up, I hear a loud bang from my living room a few minutes later. I go in to check on it only to see a huge crack straight down the middle of my pan. Super disappointed in the obviously poor quality control. Of course I started the return process and will be looking elsewhere. When opening the box, I thought the pan seemed a bit thinner than other cast iron pieces I've used, but I certainly can't blame what happened solely on the thickness of it.I still enjoy all my Cuisinart products but this has left a sour taste in my mouth.

Great buy
Exactly what I was looking for! It's a bit lighter than my Lodge 10" skillet... which is good. As I get older, I'm finding it harder to carry a loaded, hot skillet. I love the raised handles. So easy to carry. The depth is great, and not having a long handle makes it so much easier to fit in burners and small spaces. "The" perfect ribeye is so easy on my recently acquired Weber Baby Q grill. 10" is exactly what I needed. I seasoned it upon arrival even though it came seasoned. (Can never have enough). Very happy. Surprisingly reasonable price.
