Norton Abrasives - St. Gobain85316 Axe & Hatchet Stone

I used to believe if it’s not a high end diamond stone I didn’t want it, I recently purchased this little stone and have been pleasantly surprised by how fast this stone removes material. As a kid I was around stones made of this material that came from china or India that were absolutely terrible so as we often do, I lumped all stones that even looked remotely like this one in the same basket and I was 100% wrong. It does a fine job, raises a bur nicely and leaves a very workable edge on everything I’ve tried it on.

Dual grit (coarse/medium) stone. It's intended for axes and such so the grit isn't too fine like for cutlery knives. Seems to be good quality and I typically buy Norton sanding products so it's the same brand.

Good stone sharpener.

Don't order this product if you need it within one month, as this is how long it will take to arrive. I didn't realize it was shipped from the USA, as its not clear at all that this is where its shipped from.I wouldn't have ordered it if it I knew this, but mention is made of this fact.

So not sure why it asks about sheerness in the rating, however this is a great honing stone. It has two sides to sharpen your blades. I use this now to sharpen all my knifes and spears and swords so I may fight my foes to a bloody death and find my brothers in Valhalla. Also so I can hunt a giant woolly mammoth or saber tooth cat.This stone will make your weapons so sharp your enemies will quiver in their boots and they will rue the day that they ever set foot near you and challenged you in any way. May your knifes and axes be forever sharp.No but really it’s a great stone for sharpening knives and axes and such. Make sure to buy honing oil.
