The Reiki Touch Product Bundle – November 1, 2005

I don't know if I would say this is the best resource (all good ones have their own merit) or if it is a "must have" for all Reiki practitioners. I do wish the subtitle of the resource would not use the words, "Develop your skills to heal yourself and others." regarding the practice of Reiki. My understanding is that our "skill" as practitioners involves getting out of the way to let Reiki flow. The implication is that Reiki is something we do and get better at as we apply our own abilities. I know the author does not mean this. I trust it was a marketing decision made by the publisher. I have read a lot of William Rand's work and appreciate his work deeply. I know he would be the first to agree that healing is accomplished by the Reiki and not us and that we are still necessary to the process.As far as the quality of this material, it is well done. The material is high quality and there is nothing "cheap" about it. The DVD and the CD are professional and pleasant to watch and listen to. The organization and amount of content is on the level of other resources costing three times what is being charged here. I think it is a great value.As far as the content, what can I say? It isn't what I would consider perfect or communicated just the way I would like to see it, but I do think by far it is a worthy resource and anyone with an open heart and open mind will benefit on many levels for having interacted with it. It is so easy to criticize and tear something down. What is hard is to put yourself out there and give what has been given you to pass on. This comes across from the author very clearly. I experience his sincerity and wishes for the highest good fo all. I applaud any effort to be faithful to the power and the wonder of this amazing modality for healing.I give thanks for this resource. I am glad I ordered it.

I am doing my Reiki Master Teacher training -- and bought this to complement my other course materials The book is an easy read but more detailed than my training. The cards are helpful in mastering the hand positions and the instructional DVD is great for showing not only the positions but also explaining the purpose and ways to adapt them. The guided meditations and the musical selections are excellent because I can always find one that is best suited to my mood or to what I want to accomplish while meditating. Rand's voice is rather grandfatherly and soothing -- and I have suffered through some guided meditations narrated by people whose voices were so grating that meditation was impossible. The only thing that I didn't like about the DVD was each hand movement being in its own section that was just a few seconds long. It was a nuisance to keep using the remote just to advance from one hand position to the next -- you cannot practice the positions while listening. This system is a great companion to formal Reiki training, but I would not recommend this as a starting point. It would not have made much sense to me had I not previously given and received Reiki.

I have used William Rand's book as a text in my classes for over 11 years so I am familiar with his work. It is all good. This package is the best of the best.At the time I first wrote this review, this was true. I no longer use his book or teach in his lineage. This is a good book for students of the Western style of Reiki - those who trace their lineage through Mrs. Takata. I DO NOT recommend this for my students since I am not teaching in a very different lineage.The DVD and accompanying book are a wonderful supplement to Westernized Reiki training. I've been a Reiki Practitioner since 1986 and a Reiki Master Teacher since 1005, and I learned a lot. His explanations are clear and interesting from the Western Reiki perspective but not aligned with the Japanese tradition.The last chapter of the DVD is a distant healing from William, and it is one of if not the most powerful Reiki healing I have ever experienced. This healing alone is worth the price of the package. I recommend it to everyone who wants to receive distant Reiki healing. The three meditations on one of the CDCs are also excellent in healing from a health challenge.This product is appropriate for those who are teaching and studying in the Western or modern lineages of Reiki. It is not appropriate for those who are following Japanese or traditional Reiki as Usui taught it rather than the version westernized by Mrs. Takata and others.

I would recommend this kit as an excellent starter package offering great value for money.The meditative CDs alone are awesome and worth the purchase; they truly enable one to connect with whatever it is that is out there without pushing a given line to one approach to spirituality over another. I found the meditations on connecting with the higher self and working thru current and challenging issues, really helpful.Rand's review of Reiki provides the reader with a good introduction to its history and uses, but it is an introduction (90 pages, well spaced, larger font) - a de-gestation menu if you like. For those looking for more depth there are better buys to be had. If this is a negative it is offset by the workbook/manual nature of the text as it provides good pictures and guides to giving Reiki (as does the DVD) and providing insights into different ways of approaching Reiki both for self and with others. For the beginner it helps build your confidence and it gives one insight into using or developing skills/gifts you may not be aware you have e.g. intuitive scanning and Reiki thru the third eye. It also comes with a Reiki music CD which is quite useful, altho it doesn't offer any indications of timing which could be useful if you are working to a schedule.So you get a lot for your money and certainly wasn't at all disappointed with this purchase.

I have not long had this set, but love the book and the way William has written it. The meditation CD is great, although I can't tell you what is on it because both times I have tried it I fell asleep. What I can tell you is that I listened to all 3 meditations last night and woke up 5 mins before the end of the CD and felt amazing. Whatever happened worked. When I practised Reiki afterwards it felt quite different, almost like the Reiki had been enhanced some how. William's voice is wonderful and very soothing (which could explain why I fall asleep). :-) I've only listened to the music CD once so can't really comment as to whether I like it or not maybe time will tell. The set of cards included in the set are really good because I can lay them out on the table instead of trying to keep my Reiki manual (also written by William) open at the right page. From the little use I have had so far I love this set and intend to use it more regularly the more familiar I become with it. :-)

My Reiki Master has this & used it during our training, so I was keen to have my own copy. The book is informative, the DVD with visual demonstration is extremely useful for reference as are the cards. Ideal for new Reiki practitioners or those wishing to refresh their knowledge.

Excellent product ....recommend!!
