This book by Morgan Carroll is written very well. If you ever wondered how to get involved, what to do, who to contact, how to contact them, for making change in how our government is run this book is the perfect guide!This book must of taken hundreds of hours to write and re-write. It is written so well I had a hard time putting it down.I not only feel much more empowered to create change but have the tools & knowledge to take action.

Simply showing up to vote for candidates being trotted out by the power brokers in our two dominant parties is no longer sufficient as a way to be an informed participant in America's democracy. The author is a progressive who recently won Colorado's Democratic Party chair in a record landslide. However the book is a practical citizens' guide and it is not partisan advocacy or propaganda. It is equally valuable reading for confirmed progressives and staunch conservatives. This should become a book discussion group selection for every American neighborhood. There has probably never been a greater need than now for citizens to become engaged in participating in their own governance.

This book is so informative and helpful for getting back involved with making a difference. Are you sick of what is going on in Washington? Get involved, it is the only way things will change!

Morgan Carroll offers a clear, easy-to-understand guide regarding the navigation of state government for advocacy purposes. As an advocate I spend a lot of time at the state capitol and I can attest that Ms. Carroll's information is not only spot-on accurate, it is also completely unbiased and clear.

Remarkably balanced look at citizen participation in government of all levels. Like the worksheets for citizen campaigns, enclosed. At this price should be widely disseminated. Any chance we can bring back the civics courses of my childhood, to our schools?

[...]We have known Senator Carroll since she was a Representative and running a bill that was very important to alot of people and she not only took the time to talk to us but was very knowledgeable about the subject that this bill was on. She wasnt even our Rep though from our county.Since then; we have gone to alot of meetings with her and her fellow lawmakers and she is just like this book. Knowledgeable; looks at the big picture and all the nuances, etc. Not everyone is able to come to her meetings; but you can buy this book and get her wonderful insights. Only gotten through about 25 % of is since last night but its just like her. She is one of the few genuine people that wants to help; cares enough to help and does her bit to make the world a better place. She cant do this on her own however which is where this book comes in. Very glad she wrote it and you will be too.Stop complaining about how bad your state / country is and put your money where your mouth is with this book. No; she didnt tell us to write this and anyone who knows us; knows we are pretty critical when you arent doing right by your community; job; etc so this is an endorsement because she earned it.
