No recommendation
Using as iPhone dock for older car audio system. Out of the box the cable produced a whining noise when playing music. After a few uses it stopped working altogether. The audio system display just says "check USB". Would not recommend.

Fills the need for a short Apple certified cable
We needed a short cable to connect our iPhone to a car charging dock station / transmitter. Paid a bit more to be sure that it's Apple certified. This one seems to be perfect.
