Split Ease Pill Cutter

This unit is made of extra thick plastic, has cutters that can't wear out, and has a super strong hinge. It does a good job on medium to large hard to split pills and should last a long time doing this. It is not best for small pills. The lightly built units with razor blades are better and should last an acceptable length of time splitting small pills. I have not found a splitter that can do it all perfectly, so I would recommend owning one of each for each purpose. Whoever built this unit obviously was determined to do a good job. Perhaps they might design another for smaller pills. I would not hesitate to buy one.

I wanted to like this product. It is well constructed and I thought it would work with the medication we needed to cut. Like others have said, depth is the issue and many medications people need to cut are around this size ( 2.3mm thickness). There needs to be some adjustability or an alternate blade provided for slightly thinner meds. I hope they can revise the design to address the depth issue.

This is great for cutting unscored tablets. It takes a little getting used to, but once I learned to tilt the cutter at about 45% so that the hinge end was up and let the retainer piece slide down and rest on the tablet, it worked very well. The other thing I learned (at least with my medication) is not to apply too much pressure too fast. Gradually pushing the case closed at the very bottom just until a slight crack is heard will help keep the two halves intact without creating extra little pieces or too much powder.

Meh - looks like a solid pill cutter but my pills must be too small. It barely reached it and just shattered them.I'm still going to give it four stars because it looks solidly built and the mechanism that centers the pill is incredibly genius. This manufacturer needs to make a cutter that can handle the small 5mg pills. They do that; I​'ll be the first in line to get one.

I have use quite a few brands and this one is the best so far. You have to used it properly: close the lid and pushed it slowly, no need to push hardily, like other pill cutters I had . When I bought this one, I had bought the brand I use to buy, but the quality turned out to be terrible . So I ended buying "SplitEase Pill Cutter" and I'm very happy with it. I'ts worth what you pay for it.

Don't believe the negative reviews. This works MUCH better than any other pill cutter I have used.Have been using 6 months with no problem. It handles large and small pills (but perhaps not microscopic pills?).As long as you close it quickly and firmly, the pill splits without crushing.

After reading the reviews, I ordered this, and have no idea how it got the "excellent" reviews it has gotten. It is very true that it is sturdy and very well made. However, the splitting "blade" is not a blade, but a "wedge" and does not cut the pill...in fact, it only crushed mine (note, my pills were not scored). In addition, the blade doesn't even make contact with the bottom-side of the pill/cutting surface; probably a 2mm gap. Again, it is indeed sturdy...but that is about all the positive I can give it.

best cutter for hard-to-split tablets, ive tried a few of the cheaper oneslid keeps your vitamins from flying accross the room and has uniqe and effective clampe to center the medecin/supplement.
