Essentials of Contemporary Management

Boring book. Pretty common sense stuff. You could find a quizlet with all of the definitions in this book and you would know everything. 5 stars for the cheap rental.

Well written and organized. Easy read, yet long but that's necessary for the subject matter.

This book was a rental for one of my daughter's college courses great way to get your books to school without spending a lot of money.

Textbook is well organized, study questions inspire learning. The case studies in here, about companies such as Walmart and Zappos, are actually applicable to the real world. Case in point: My last case study on Zappos gave the tale of their adventures with the management organizer Holacracy. The last question suggested we do an internet search for the company's performance over the last few years, and give an opinion of the effect of their management reorganization. Lo and behold, the tale was only half-told, but through my research I was able to learn by example. There's a real-world example emphasis that's refreshing after several quarters of theory with little practical application. I found myself re-reading chapters to better understand a management issue I'd heard on the news. Textbook = Interesting. What a concept! I rented this through Amazon's textbook rental service because it's expensive, but if Warren Buffet hires me after graduation I'll buy whatever edition is available then.

This book was in terrible condition, do not take the word “acceptable” lightly. It looks like 1 year old used it for teething.
