Leifheit Colmbus Vacuum Jug, Black ,1 L ,28301

After sustained dissatisfaction with a vacuum teapot the seal/pouring mechanism kep breaking, I discovered this impressive item. I take care to initially add warm water from the tap, then hot water from the tap, then, finally the chosen tea in a porous holder and finally boiling water from the kettle.I treat the vacuum teapot gently, after all one can see the delecate silver surface of the inner skin of the vacuume "globe" and I treat it with respect.I'm seriously thinking of purchasing at least a second one so that I have it if my cat knocks it to the floor and a smashing end - my cat is a bit of a "klutz", but this fine item is most impressive.

This was the third one and it lasted 3 weeks and exploded one morning. The vacuum flask blew up, fortunately the glass was contained inside but there was hot tea over the floor.It was a scary experience. The others have been great and we have one in our caravan. There was no reason as to why it happened as it was treated exactly as the others.I dropped one and broke the flask.I have recommended to a friend and she has an older one too, perhaps they are being made differently or I got a ‘Friday’ afternoon one

I use this at work. I am a trifle eccentric I guess you would say; I like a bone china teacup and saucer, not a mug, no matter what beverage I'm drinking. But there is a drawback to that when you have to have the volume of coffee I need in a day to function - the teacup is tiny and needs frequent filling. This is an excellent solution. I make a pot of coffee when I arrive in work, fill up the jug and have it on my desk. That way I'm not up and downstairs with my two mouthfuls cup and saucer, and I'm not giving big eyes to any colleagues who happen to walk past on their own way to the kitchen in an effort to beg a refill! Nice shape too, and the black is sassy!

This is a very stylish and practical vacuum jug. I use it to store coffee throughout the day and it does keep the coffee very hot up to 10 hours. It also looks very stylish on the counter top and is very easy to use and to clean. We have christened ours "Pingu" as it does remind us of a penguin.This jug has become a real family favourite

Looks good but thermal inner is made of glass which smashed on arrival .
