More Than Just A Cute Face...
Three years ago I made the decision to hire Henry to help me clean my home. The cleaner I had at the time was a Shark Lift-Away, but after a couple of years some of the parts began to snap off and while it cleaned very well, I wasn’t truly satisfied with it over all. I had heard of Henry before and how they were one of the most popular vacuum cleaners in the UK and wished I could at least try one out. One day while searching on amazon for a new vacuum to replace my Shark I found Henry, and he had been adapted for the American 120 volt requirements. I thought the price was a little too high but I decided to try him anyway because if I didn’t like him I could always return him. Three years later Henry is still helping me keep my home clean to this day with absolutely no problems what so ever. He is by far the best vacuum cleaner I have ever had. He is super durable (he fell down the stairs one day and didn’t even phase him), he has a tremendous amount of suction that I would say is about the same if not better than a Shop Vac. He is very quiet (I was able to vacuum while my grandmother was taking a nap and didn’t wake her). He has a huge dust bag made of HEPA material, each time I have changed the bag I’ve noticed there is virtually no dust that has leaked through the bag inside of him, and are supplied with three extras in the box. I can go several months without changing the bag and even when packed full, Henry still manages to have great suction. He has a very long, heavy duty 33ft cord. I can clean almost the entire house without having to unplug him, and it stores inside of him with a manual cord winder. The attachment set is fantastic, his hose is 8ft long which is longer than average. He comes with three, heavy duty stainless steel wands, a durable combination floor head, an adapter to fit the tools directly on the hose without using the wands, a soft dusting brush, an upholstery tool with slide on or off stiff bristles, and a crevice tool. I also purchased the optional Airo Brush because I have lots of carpet and it does a fantastic job at getting the dirt and hair out of the carpet. Best of all he has a very cute little face (you have the option of removing it but I don’t really see why you’d want too). Any cons with Henry I would have to say are that he is on the heavy side at 22 pounds but that’s only Henry himself, and you’re not really moving the entire machine around too much like an upright cleaner. After awhile his bag tends to get musty smelling but I found putting a teaspoon of coffee or more in the bag and letting him sit overnight will take care of the smell. All in all I absolutely adore Henry and wouldn’t trade him in for anything. If you are reading this and thinking of hiring Henry to help keep your home clean, give him a try, I’m sure you won’t regret it.

A Marvel of engineering!
Henry is a marvel of engineering. I am a janitor in a business office that gets a lot of foot traffic -- thus the need for daily, thorough, floor cleaning. Our clerks also need a quiet environment in which to conduct transactions. Other vacs I’ve tried are far too noisy, compelling me to use a broom -- which raises a lot of dust and is tiring on my 75 year-old back. After thorough research on the Internet and reading many, many articles on how to choose a vacuum cleaner, I discovered the Henry. It is everything one could want for office or home cleaning — whisper quiet, powerful suction, and fantastic airflow. It’s also rugged and built to last. The dust bags are durable, flexible, and easy to install and remove. They are also dirt cheap (excuse the pun). The bags for another vacuum brand I tried almost always ruptured inside the vacuum cleaner, requiring me to use an air compressor to clean out the debris. Although it was an American brand, it was manufactured in China! I am proud of the Union Jack symbol on the side of my Henry. It means it’s well made by a western country that’s an ally of the US. I consider it a status symbol. And, of course, Henry’s face gets a lot of attention. He’s a real chick magnet where I work! Whoever came up with this idea is a marketing genius! ! I think of him as an adopted son, and we are already bonding.

We love our little Henry
We first saw a Henry when cruising on a Holland America Line ship and noticed through the years that "Henry" was their vacuum cleaner of choice as we saw them on every ship of theirs we've sailed on. Of course, Henry's "face" is the first thing we noticed and initially thought that one of the stewards had decided to personalize his equipment by putting eyes and a mouth on the tank. Later we realized that this was the "look" of all Henry's. We were impressed that a cruise line which obviously is constantly vacuuming areas and is giving the product heavy usage liked it enough to have it on all their ships -- plus we noted that Henry was quiet -- no jet plane roar when he's operating -- just a very subdued (he's British you know) hum. A few months ago we bought a Henry and we love him. He is equipped with two speeds -- and we have yet to run him at the higher speed as the low speed provides plenty of suction -- plus he has numerous attachments so he can handle any job. He has a very long cord that winds up into the top of the cannister so there is no fighting with a cord to store after vacuuming. The hose is a very good length and he manuevers beautifully and allows us to vacuum under and behind even the lowest furniture. Henry has "friends" who you can also purchase and they are shown on the Amazon website. I highly recommend this product. For years, I have used Hoover uprights -- those days are over -- my little Henry is our vacuum of choice.

I love my new Henry...
I love my new Henry vacuum! I decided over a year ago that my next vacuum cleaner would a little more low tech than the new uprights. So when I started looking around for the type of vacuums that would follow me around (like they used to do over 25 years ago) I was delighted to find Henry! I based my decision to purchase Henry on the excellent reviews he received. I have not been disappointed. He arrived within 5 days and set to work right away. He has a HUGE debris collection area and happily follows me around as I easily vacuum under low furniture and in tight spots. He is also quiet and has a very long cord that allows me to vacuum at least two rooms without having to change plugs. I have mostly wood floors with low pile area carpets. He works great on both and even gets all the doggie hairs left behind by my 80 pound pup! I love Henry and would highly recommend him to anyone who does not have a high pile carpet (although I think an accessory is available for that type of carpet).
