Disappointing and Repetitive
As a fan of BOSH, I was eager to get my hands on "Speedy BOSH" after loving "BOSH" so much. However, I was disappointed to find that this book missed the mark for me. While the recipes themselves are good, my issue with "Speedy BOSH" is the reliance on pre-packaged sauces that are not easily accessible for those living in rural areas. It feels like this book was geared towards city dwellers with easy access to specialty stores, so i'm unable to fully enjoy the speedy recipes. Another issue I have with this book is the repetitive nature of the recipes. Overall disappointed.

Every recipe looks beautiful!
I am so excited about this book! Every page has full, beautiful pictures. The recipes all look so appealing- I can’t wait to jump right in to making them! First on the list to make is the toad in the hole with curry gravy, Rodinson’s rarebit, and theasby’s tempeh toastie. I love the chapter on sharing dishes. Lots of platters to choose from! The quick mezze platter, street tacos three ways, and tapas platter are prefect for get togethers. It does have a lot of recipes that include store bought “meat” items. But this is to cater to the “speedy” food prep theme of this book. If store bought sausages and meatballs aren’t your thing, make them from scratch on the weekend! Or skip them! You could sub them out for other things, like potatoes, tofu, or mushrooms. The use faux meats is no reason to pass up such a beautiful book (resource!).

Bosh is the Boss!
I have been watching Bosh videos for over a year now. I got their cookbooks from the Library. When I got a notice that Speedy Bosh was due, I was sad and realized I needed to order this book. The Bosh boys are endearing and entertaining and their dishes look and taste delicious. I have been vegan about 2 1/2 years and am still learning how to cook delicious vegan dishes.. This cookbook will aid in that endeavor.

NOT healthy plant-based
I’ve gone through about half of this cookbook so far and have found nothing I could, or want to, make. Too many steps in the recipes, too many unusual ingredients—I mean, who has ever seen a jackfruit in their grocery store—and too many recipes that use oil. Frying food in oil, as many of the recipes call for, is not healthy but this book doesn’t offer the healthy option of sautéing in water. They use too many processed food like meatless sausage, which also has oil in the ingredients. I wish I could have seen some of the recipes: if I had I would not have wasted money on this cookbook. I’m going to stick with the Forks Over Knives Cookbook that calls for sautéing food in water, and tells you how to do that, and uses ingredients you can find in an average grocery store. This BOSH book is going to the Goodwill, for someone who has more time for cooking and thinks saying “plant-based” on anything guarantees it’s healthy. Not true.
