VELCRO Brand Heavy Duty Stick On Tape 50 mm x 1 m, Black & Brand Black Stick On Tape 20 mm x 2.5 m Roll

I bought this as a good solution to hang a light thin glass case (max 1kg) containing collected coins in my garage. I followed the instructions correctly: both surfaces cleaned with sandpaper; once applied the sticky strips I left it for over 24 hours. Next day I hung the case and all seemed well. Later that night when we went to bed (our bedroom in an extension above the garage), we heard a loud crash. At first we thought a car had crashed outside but all seemed quiet. When I went down stairs to look around I found the case smashed on the floor. Coins being solid were fine but I was not pleased.It transpires you the velcro is very good and strong but the adhesive on the strips does not match that. I bought another case, hung it this time using UH super glue on the back of the velcro strips and now all seems fine. The problem is that means the velcro has limited use indoors because you would not want to use super glue on an internal wall or door because you'd never get it off bar scrapping off plaster or wood. So beware of this limitation and though the velcro is very good and would give it 5 stars, I give one because they do not warn you in the instructions that the adhesive may not be strong enough for heavy loads.

We moved into a new build with horrible plasterboard walls and were warned that due to how the wiring and plumbing was done, there were parts where we couldn't drill into.Someone suggested velcro, to which initially I scoffed, remembering it being that thing on clothes and bags that surely wasn't going to hold up anything heavy.I was completely wrong, we have managed to use this everywhere in our home, from small picture frames to a full length (6ft+) mirror and even a rug! One of the best inventions out there!Just one small comment - one side of the velcro is longer than the other, about a foot of it at the end of the box gets left over, which you really can't use for anything other than keeping it spare.Notes:1 - the adhesive is very strong, once on, you'll not be able to adjust the positioning, so measure and align properly to get this right first time.2 - the adhesiveness on the wall side is dependent on the quality of the finish, we have really thin paint on plasterboard and it seems to attach fine (the paint does come off when you take the velcro off - have some spare paint ready)3 - avoid using above radiators or near the oven/kitchen where it gets hot, for the most part the velcro hasn't moved, but some has come loose due to the heat4 - when attaching to things like rugs, I'd recommend stitching the velcro in, the backing of the rugs doesn't really provide a good surface for adhesion, ours had stayed up for about 2 months before the weight of the rug meant it started sagging.

I purchased this roll of Velcro Heavy Duty Stick On for a number of small projects rather than for one specific task. The adhesive is surprisingly strong, especially if left to cure for a couple of days. I found it incredibly difficult to remove from plastic with there literally being no chance of it coming away on its own.I don't know if it would get the same kind of adhesion to painted walls (mainly due to certain paints not sticking very well to plastered walls etc.) and I certainly wouldn't use it to hang up tools on the wall as illustrated on the box! I think sometimes you simply can't beat nails or screws and rawlplugs for some tasks. Whilst this Velcro strip may be more convenient by not needing to drill holes etc. you will more than likely need to repaint the surface after removing this strip from the wall just as you would need to fill a drilled hole.The roll I received came in a Velcro branded box and the backing of the hook and loop strips is also Velcro branded. The strips have a very strong adhesive smell which took me by surprise when I opened the box. If you've ever smelt sellotape it's like that but about 50 times stronger!One thing I'm a little disappointed with was the hook part of this strip. The 'hook' part is spaced out quite far apart and while the 'loop' strip that comes with this sticks really well to it (to the extent that it's actually very tough to pull apart), other Velcro or hook and loop stuff simply doesn't stick to this very well at all. So, it's not really 'compatible' with anything apart from itself.Pros:- Strong adhesive especially on plastic surfaces- Plenty of hook and loop strip in the box- Easy to cut and apply- Velcro brandedCons:- The 'hook' part is not really compatible with 'loop' parts from similar products due to the hook arrangement- Smells very strong initially

Bought this to replace the strips around the window from last year for the bug nets now that the weather is heating up. After double checking the description and reviews, I ordered confidently believing this one may even last longer with the extra strength adhesive! And still, the box arrives clearly stating it’s not for use on PVC!!!What a waste of time. Will be returning for a full refund tomorrow!

This stuff is incredibly strong. It will take serious strain and weight without fail.Personally, I's bypass the normal velcro and go for this due to its stickiness on surfaces and it's load retention. This stuff holds TV's, heavy mirror and picture, children (joke) - you name it!

I ride carbon-fibre velomobiles (aerodynamic fully enclosed trikes) Virtually all the gadgetry is held in place using Velcro and this stronger version is perfect for the job . To get a good bond on composite surfaces it's best to clean first with a solvent such as acetone and carefully warm up the glue surface of the Velcro with a heat gun.

if you want to hang something up without destroying the walls this product is excelentvery sticky and very strongI have almost used the entire roll now and have had no problemsI will have to buy more its that good
