Exactly what I needed
Original wh was leaking and after viewing a few YouTube videos I felt I could replace it myself. Ordered this one and it arrived quickly well packaged. The only downside is that this supplier doesn’t warranty the product past a 30 day refund period. Much cheaper price than I was quoted from several rv dealers.

So far so good!
We have an old jayco eagle super lite with a water heater that’s been discontinued. The old one was hard wired. This one has a plug, so we marked where the old wires went and had to install an outlet inside our WH cabinet. Got the gfci one! Had to get a new door (sold separately). But it’s important to note this new heater doesn’t work with old doors (at least for us). No anode rod was a strange concept, but I’m happy for that. Even with regular flushing and constant new water filters, our old unit came out basically full of “sand.” Anyway, this new unit seems to be holding its own. I can shave and wash my hair in one shower. So nice. Still not sure what the deal is with our switch though. We don’t have a temp control panel, only a switch. It’s a camper trailer. The basic stuff, you know. So the switch sometimes blinks, sometimes the light is consistent. Sometimes it’s off. I have learned to disregard the light. The heater works as expected if not better. I’m relieved we found a solution that fit our tiny camper cabinet!

4 DAYS WORK
THIS REVIEW IS SO CORRECT THAT I JUST COPIED AND PASTED IT TO MY REVIEW, EXCEPT THAT IT TOOK ME 4 DAYS TO INSTALL INCLUDING REROUTING PROPANE TUBING AND REWIREING 120 VOLT POWER AND ORDERDING A NEW DOOR THAT DOES NOT REALLY FIT CORRECTLY! SO FAR IT HAS WORKED OK FOR OVER A MONTH.I was given the correct model number to replace the Atwood Water Heater with the Dometic Water Heater. I was unaware how difficult this would become. First, The Dometic model was considerably smaller than the Atwood. Second, it took 2 days to modify the Dometic to actually work, meaning extra tubing had to be purchased to align with the new plugs for water plow. Third, the outside door did not match up with the screws or the keyhole to lock the door in place. It was not easy to get this to work. I think Amazon should have offered "other things that would go well with this product" as they do with other products. I now have to purchase a door that will fit tightly and appropriately to the outside of the motorhome. Perhaps Dometic, who bought out Atwood, did not consider the age of a motorhome when they converted the water heater, or Amazon did not supply all the information necessary to inform the buyer of potential problems. Either way Installing became a 2 day nightmare.

Replacement water heater
This water heater gets nowhere near the hot water that the original water heater did. It also doesn't stay hot as long. At least, it's not leaking.

Easy to do yourself.
Does what it's supposed to do and relatively easy to install.

Unit FAILED after Two Uses
Once I had this unit installed and tested both the electric and propane for heating. I was able to have two people take a shower and on the third person the water heater stopped heating. Now it will NOT even try to come on with either the electric or propane. Why would a brand new water heater stop working with both sources of power? Could the high limit switch be defective? Or did I just get a bad unit? I guess I'll need to return this unit and look for something else!Stan
