Cooler Master V850 Gold V2 PSU
I see that a lot of the reviews here lumped together mentioning lower capacity units, 750W, 650W 550W etc. Just to be clear this review is only for the Cooler Master V850 Gold V2 PSU.This is a good power supply, which is able to support power-hungry graphics cards up to an RTX 3090 Ti. It arrived well packed, the box contained the PSU, which is fully modular with a separate bag containing all the cables you would need for a normal build, they are are either fully sleeved or the flat ribbon type. Finishing the contents is the AC input cord, some mounting screws and a good user manual. It's nice to see that this PSU has three PCIe cables, which you can use in super high-end graphics cards with three PCIe sockets. Please note that it is best to avoid using both PCIe connectors of the same cable in high-wattage graphics cards like the Nvidia RTX 3080 and RTX 3090, I would actually avoid doing so with any card. If your GPU has two or three sockets then you should use two or three cables and not one cable with both connectors. It was disappointing to find that the PCIe cables only come with double connectors on them, I was trying to go the extra mile with my cable management for my build. My Strix RTX 3070 needs two PCIe cables and this now means that I had two extra connectors hanging down doing nothing, even after using cable ties to tidy it up a little, it still didn't look good. At this price range it would be nice to see Cooler Master include some single connectors as well as maybe some cable caps too.I wasn't going for a super quiet build on purpose but my choice of a BeQuiet CPU Fan and Fractal Case Fans were were certainly taking me that route and this PSU did too. It runs very quiet at idle and even under load it is not at all noisy. If you are looking for actual test results then there are full reviews on tomshardware and tweaktown which cover those, which are overall very favourable. This seems to be a high-performance PSU with quiet operation and good build quality. There are other cheaper ones out there but not many, if any are supported by a hefty ten-year warranty.

Modular, silent, quality and value. What more could you want?
UPDATE - after posting my review, the price doubled to over £80. Still reasonable value, but certainly not the bargain it was.I build a lot of PCs. Many are just basic office workstations, so they don't run games or have to perform any other cpu intensive or graphics intensive tasks. The PC I'm building at the moment is intended as a music streamer for my hifi. What I value above all else is silence. Not just quiet, I mean absolute silence: passive cpu cooling, solid state storage, and the hard part: silent power supplies.I couldn't believe this was a modular, silent PSU at a reasonable price. The white 550W version is £30 cheaper than the black one. (Seriously? People pay nearly double the price for the right colour PSU???)The PSU comes in a sturdy box with foam padding. Both the PSU and cable pack have further cloth bags. There's the usual selection of cables which are a good length and look well made. There's also a pack of cable ties and screws and a UK 3 pin plug.Plugged it in and it just works, and the PC is what it should be, silent.I'm so impressed I've just gone and ordered another one for my next project.

Solid with thick wires
Well at over £100 for a 650 watt PSU you'd expect it to be well made. That's the point really, it's powering a lot of expensive gear such as the GPU and everything else. It's the least expensive component in the PC yet capable of blowing up the rest of it if it went badly wrong. In fact we bought this to replace a PSU that actually went BANG! with an exclamation mark because the GPU was just too much for it.Solid construction from thick metal, thick ribbon style cables. All of them plug in (modular). Interestingly a 4+4 CPU cable and an 8 way CPU cable. Both the same thing really but the MoBo accepted the 8 way which made it easier to plug in. Some MoBos use 3 4 way or even two 8 way so you're covered.I was a little disappointed that they did not supply PCIe cables with only one connector. I was reluctant to cut off the unused connector. remember if your GPU has two sockets, use two cables, not one cable with both plugs. Current and resistance, ohms law and all that.As always with modular PSUs try not to lose the cables. To be honest they are a waste of money. You should get a case with a PSU shroud then you don't have to look at the spare cables of a non modular PSU. Then when you upgrade you still have the cables where you can find them.In the long run it's worth over specifying the PSU so you can cope with a GPU upgrade without splashing out on another PSU. 650 watts is plenty for now but I am concerned that it won't be enough after an upgrade, doh! An over spec'ed PSU will also run silent as it won't turn the fan on.Maybe that's what the mysterious button on the back of the unit is for.....Anyway happy with this PSU but if you have more time than money shop around, this is no bargain.

couldve done with actual cable bands on each set of cable to control them
looks great works so far, i7 12700k, 308010gb suprim x, 32gb ddr5 ram couldve done with actual cable bands on each set of cable to sort them better

Virtually noiseless, fully modular
The incredibly quiet fan doesn't run until the load is 40% of the 650W rating. That feature is switchable so that the fan runs all of the time. Even then, I had to really concentrate to hear it, though the computer side panels weren't on. It comes with a good range of cables, albeit being flat cables, the motherboard supply is difficult to position to reduce the visual impact. Note that the cable ends with the suffix CM are meant to plugged into the PSU, otherwise you may have difficulty with the motherboard supply. This was a fantastic as-new bargain from Amazon Warehouse (£60), but I nearly returned it. A new ASUS ROG STRIX Z490-E GAMING motherboard fed from this PSU, lost the 12 volt supply. I thought the PSU had failed, but unusually it was the ASUS motherboard, but at least I have this stable, quiet PSU.

Great PSU, shocking price!!!
I bought this back in March 2022 for £61.00 and it's worked flawlessly, can't believe what they're asking for it now, wow!!
