Cute but not well made. Two of the chimera broke off. Think it might have been a squirrel. Since they are metal, I was surprised the broke off.

My mom was never a dog person but they were given a purebred 6-month-old Scottish Terrier because she was bred to be a show dog but had a heart murmur and they didn't want to cause her possible stress. This dog had the perfect disposition for them and she has been her baby ever since. I wanted to get her something nice for her birthday but she is hard to buy for. Well, she loves windchimes and Scotties. I had looked at this before for Mother's Day and regretted not getting it so I went back to it for her birthday.This comes in a plain, brown retail box. It is wrapped extremely well. There was extra paper in it to keep it from jostling and each individual piece of glass was wrapped. This is straight from the manufacturer so it has a good chance of not being broken. I was most worried about that since I had put it off for so long and wouldn't have time to buy something else.The top portion is metal and has a lot of detail on it. The strings that hold the glass are coated so they wont disintegrate and wear down like regular string. The knots on the strings have glue on them to keep them from coming undone. The edges are nicely cut. There is a metal hook on the top to hang the windchime with.My mom was so happy with it. I hung it in her dining room because that is the first area she goes to when she walks into the house and is just outside of her bedroom door. I just hung it on the chandelier for the time being but it is still there until she finds a place to put it. She talks about it every time she sees it!She's going to hang it from a new garage that is being built so that she can see it from the house. She doesn't like that anywhere on the house she cannot see it so none of those locations was good! Also, since we sometimes get some pretty good storms, the location on the garage will help shield it since it will be between the house and the garage.Personally, this is adorable! If I didn't have a mixed breed I would love one of my dog too. I do think that people need to be cautious of where they hang it and use some sense with it being glass. It would even look cute just hanging on a wall. The colors aren't summer bright colors so they woud not be gaudy inside.

Giving this to a friend for her birthday

This was a nice addition to my collection of Scottie Dog decorations. As some others have mentioned, the chimes are glass and do break. I left this hanging on my front porch during some heavy spring winds, and the main chain at the top which supports the wind chime broke. The main chain was easily fixed, but some of the glass chimes broke when it fell. It's still working though and I will continue to use it. It's a nice handmade piece but isn't made to stand up during heavy winds. If you are using it outside and have heavy winds, take it down.

I loved the whole piece. The colors were lovely. Glass Bones were so neat.

LOVE these chimes. Just the right jingle, none of the glass chimes have broken, and we get some strong winds here. Its just the right chimes for Scottie lovers. As I said, we get some strong winds here, well the hanging wires broke, and to the ground it went. Most of the glass chimes broke in pieces. So check the hanging wires. I will buy again, as I love these Wind Chimes.
