Tanigawa has his faults but they are the faults of greatness. If you'be read this far in the series you're. Probably of the same opinion. If you're new to the series, start at the beginning and buy and read them all.The view of humanity presented in these books is both realistic and inspiriting. And they're exciting and suspenseful.

Very well written and expertly translated from Japanese.I enjoyed this series a great amount and this volume was no exception. It was very gripping and did an wonderful job of capturing each new character's personality.Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys a bit of Haruhiism in their life.

If you like the Suzumiya books, you'll like this one, too. Kyon's tone is spot-on as usual. But in a lot of ways the function of this book is to set up the next (and thus-far last) book(s), The Surprise of You-know-who, and so it doesn't go vary far. It's a bit tough to track until you figure out that Kyon has hit an alternative universe again, only this time he is alive in both simultaneously.

I have been the hugest fan of this light novel series, and the condition of the book is amazing. Hardcover really is the way to go. Anyway, I'd read the fan-translation a while back, and now I'm excited to have a physical copy with a more comprehensible writing style! Yay!

This story uses two timelines or possible timelines linked together. At the end, you're not sure which was real, or if it matters which was real. A wonderful science fiction plot device.

The main plot of the series finally starts. A bit faster and more interesting than the episodic content of the few previous books.

Fun read! Enjoyed it.
