Enough with your promo stickers, this is ludicrous
Beware. If buying a used/like new product, particularly blurays, there will most likely be an annoyingly disappointing sticker on your case stating: "Thank you for giving this product a second life". Luckily essential oil will remove the residue as it is of the stubborn type. But as collectors, the last thing we want is to remove the discs and sleeve insert to clean the original case from Vinegar Syndrome or another boutique company. Thumbs down, Amazon. Get wise and stop advertising on our life long love of film. We don't care. Give us what is expected, an unadulterated investment and film to cherish in a long term format!

Creepy and different
Creepy and different take on the zombie movie. In 1980 this was some creepy stuff and it's still an entertaining film after all these years. It's also nice to finally see a nice widescreen transfer of this movie and in HD. Recommended for fans of the film and fans of 70's/early 80's horror films.

An underrated classic finally comes to Blu Ray!!
One of the top grossing horror films of 1980. A film that has long had a cult following. 1964 Grammy Award winner Gale Garnett, for the song "We'll Sing in the Sunshine" has a sizeable role as a pregnant mother in peril. A unique film in many aspects. Definitely worth a look or a revisit. A low budget film but well directed and with an innovative script. Well above average acting for a low budget film. And on location rural filming in Massachusetts also add a great authentic feel. Some very impressive extras round out this long awaited Blu Ray/DVD combo.

TROMA Blu-Ray Review of, THE CHILDREN
Okay, so here's the thing, IF, you like this movie, don't care about the new commentary with director Max Kalmanowicz (even though the back of the case says it's included) LOVE menus where you can't see the indicator as to which menu item you're on (just look at the screen shot of the menu, and try and see which menu item is highlighted - hint, one of them IS highlighted) and want to save around $20, then this is the version to get, BUT, if like me, you want to keep your sanity where the menu is concerned, then I'd advise getting the more expensive, Vinegar Syndrome, version.Personally, I LIKE the cover art better on this TROMA BD, as the, Vinegar Syndrome cover looks more like a cover for the, Village of the Damned remake. And even though it doesn't mention it on the package, LLoyd Kaufman, in his intro, mentions that this is a remastered director's version of the film (whether it's the same one as the, Vinegar Syndrome transfer, I don't know, and have not been able to find anything to either confirm or deny the source of the print used for this transfer, but from the what I watched, it looked better than the old DVD that TROMA put out years ago, so, that's at least a plus). It's just TOO bad about the badly encoded menu and the lack of the director's commentary, as everything else seems to have been included from the, Vinegar Syndrome BD, and this is about half the price and with a better cover. As for the movie itself, you either love it or hate it, but it's a fun bit of 80's cheese (just don't forget to bring the crackers, oh, and some, black nail polish wouldn't hurt either, enjoy :)
