Super Sturdy and a Long reach on the swing arm
I put a new Visio 42 inch tv on this wall mount. It works great. There is 25 inches of extension and the tv swings a full 180 degrees. You can move the tv 4 feet across the wall. This puts the TV in the center of the room or 4 feet over to be in front of a treadmill. The large back plate installs over 2 wall studs. The center pivot point can be moved any where between the studs, in 2 inch increments. My setup ended up with the pivot point directly over the stud. The TV covers the entire bracket when centered. This thing is sturdy. It weighs about 3 times the weight of the TV. The wall bracket installs first with the swing arm and tv mount disconnected. This is important as you do not have to lift the whole thing to mark the holes, only the wall bracket. It is still a 2 person job to hold, level and mark the hols. I recommend a level with a magnetic base, it made life easy.4 Lag bolts hold the bracket to the wall studs. Then the swing arm is installed by just sliding it into the wall mount. The wall mount holds the bracket during adjustment. 4 screws permanently attach the swing arm to the wall mount. This is easily done by one person. The swing arm moves smoothly and solidly with or without the TV mounted. The tv mounting seams very versatile with numerous mounting arrangements. The Visio did not need either the horizontal or vertical extension bars, so neither were installed. Holes aligned perfectly. A couple of different length screws and some spacers were included just in case. None were needed for the Visio. The tv with the mount attached is simply set on the swing arm and 2 more screws permanently affix it. Again the TV was the lightest part of the assembly. The Cable management is just adequate but a few Zip ties improved what was lacking.I am exceedingly pleased with this unit. I would recommend it to anyone who can mark studs and drill a few holes.I compared it to a $300 version sold at Best Buy. This mount is twice as sturdy, the pivot point is adjustable on the wall, and it is 1/3 the price.Did I mention that it was sturdy? - Ok here are some numbers, the Wall plate is approximately 0.15" thick steel plate ( about 10 gauge steel) the Swing arm is approximately 0.14" thick plate (about 11 gauge steel) and the TV mount plate is 0.10" thick plate (or about 12 Gauge steel). For reference standing floor safes use a standard wall thickness 11 gauge.I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine...

Fantastic mount with great adjustability
Bought 2 of these. One was for a 40" flat wall mount which was probably overkill but the second was for a 60" corner mount and the adjustability provided by the mount made the install really nice. Not knowing what angle I could achieve from a mount made the corner install very questionable which is why I chose this mount. The fact it can slide within the fixed wall plate provided the added ability to ensure I could bolt it to studs yet achieve the appropriate angle within the room. The long extension to the mount also facilitated the corner install. In addition the up/down tilt was also ample to provide a proper viewing angle. The mount feels nice and solid and swings the same if you need to get back behind.Mounting was nice and simple which I achieved by myself. Once the wall plate and swing arm are in place on the wall you attach the mounting bracket to the tv. Then you partially thread the upper two mounting bolts into the tv mounting bracket which attach the bracket to the swing arm. The swing arm was configured nicely with 2 slots for screws to drop into which allow you to lift the tv into place and position it so these 2 bolts drop down into the slots. Having an assistant at this point is definitely handy to ensure the bolts drop into place. Once you have it positioned those 2 bolts will hold the tv on the mount while you get back in behind and secure the tv with 2 additional screws and tighten all 4.One thing I thought was unnecessary and actually a little annoying was the ability of the tv to pivot laterally. In other words you can take one end of the tv and raise it or lower it to be parallel with the floor. I understand why this functionality is there but if you use a level when mounting the wall plate it seems unnecessary. So now any time you move the tv you need to ensure you level it afterwards. Just a small annoyance for what is otherwise a great mount.

Needs a few more screws in the hardware kit, but a very robust wall mount.
Nice piece. Very heavy duty.If you own the "very rare" Samsung LCD (They only made a few hundred of these, right?) the kit will not include the screws required when you use the standoff bushings. Luckily I had a few of these when I mounted another TV in the bedroom.Otherwise, the mount is great. The plate that screws onto the wall is a brute. On Edit: I've had this a few years now and just updated my review from 4 to 5 stars. Ok, it was missing a few common size screws (for Samsun). But this mount has moved not one millimeter since I installed it and swings as well today as a few years ago.I swing it out to attach cables or to get rid of annoying screen glare.I was confused by the directions when they stated to "Make the TV level, simply twist". Son of a gun. There is a hidden feature built into the main plate (a friction plate) that allows you simply grab the tv, give it a twist and make it level. It then stays in that position.[on edit] I forgot the best part! The backing plate has multiple positions onto which the arm can be mounted. Therefore, you can mount the plate on two studs (16" oc) and then bias the arm anywhere horizontally on the plate. This allows you to mount the plate for best strength, and then center the TV to the wall. The adjustment amount is up to 12" on 2" hole spacing. If needed, you could drill the mounting plate to get it just 'that' much closer (in a cabinet for instance). Since the arm mount is captured between two 'C' channels on the wall mount, you can slide the TV back and forth to test positions. Heck, I might have to give this 5 stars if it doesn't droop over the next few months.
