Accutire MS-51 Bluetooth Battery Monitor

The case is very well made, no part lines or flash.It comes with a button battery in a tiny Ziploc bag which one must install. You need a #0 Phillips screwdriver, although I was able to do it with a #1 by using great care not to strip the Chinese screws. There is a tiny O-ring to protect the battery compartment, from moisture I think, make sure it's in place properly when you replace the cover. There is no indication of polarity in the case, I installed it B plus up, and the LED lit, so I guess it was correct. The ring terminals provided were not large enough to fit my 1/4" terminals, so plan on crimping on new ones. I was able to capture the smaller terminals under two other terminals that were already on my battery but I will change them in future. The app asks you to go through a short identification procedure to pair with Bluetooth and my phone found it instantly. I think I pressed the button on top of the unit without thinking, but I can't remember, or don't know if this is necessary.The LED changes from red to green when a Bluetooth connection is established.So far, so good.Mine did not have zip-ties included as the description implies. No big deal, as if you are installing this, you most likely have these somewhere. I used a piece of painters tape as my battery bank is indoors, and this is not critical. Bonus- the LED shines through the tape just fine.The bar graph in the app seems to be for a generic flooded lead acid battery and is not valid for AGM or gelled electrolyte batteries. Use the voltage reading and don't depend on the graph to show voltage/state of charge. Check with the Manufacturer of your batteries, not the retailer, as many times they have no clue or will BS you. My batteries (DEKA AGM) need at least a tenth of a volt higher than what the graph indicates, and a tenth of a volt is a big deal in AGMs. The voltage readout is within .02 volts of my Fluke, which is adequate for my use, your mileage may vary.The documentation is woefully inadequate, the app is extremely hard to find in the playstore, (M_LBatteryMonitor) to save you some time, the battery compartment has no indication of polarity, the terminals are too small, there are no zip-ties, the instructions in the box are essentially useless, the website is ridiculously hard to navigate, if you can even find it.Other than that, no probs.If it continues to function properly, I will consider it money well spent.

What a cool idea!! I searched for a volt meter for my A-Frame pop up camper for a few weeks. I didn't really want to drill holes or cut into the cabinets of our camper. This unit is perfect! It's weather/water proof, easy to setup and works well. I can check the voltage from the comfort of my camper or around the campsite easily. It seems to be pretty accurate comparing it to my solar chargers readings. If there is a complaint I don't know what the current draw is so it could be using more power than I'm really comfortable with. Also its impossible to find the app in the apple app store. There is really no mention of the apps name anywhere on the packaging. I had to dig through reviews to find out what to down load.

So far so good, very easy to install and synced up right away. Only giving 4 stars as the app is very hard to identify in the google play store, I couldn't find it at all and ended up using the web site referenced in the instructions and digging around to find it. Considering the whole benefit of the product is using the app I was disappointed it would not be identified easier. I like being able to set warning levels where it will text you if the battery reaches that level which gives an extra level of reassurance in addition to just checking periodically via bluetooth.

This unit works well and seems to be accurate. It comes with NO instructions for activation of the unit or how to set up the App. It took a few trys but I was finally able to get it working. There is an LED light and push button on the unit. I am not sure what the button does or what the light indications mean. A motorcycle battery installation seems best for this monitor. I do not know if it would survive the under-hood heat in a car. Also I am not sure if it is weather proof.

The product works as expected but am skeptical on button battery life span. The Blue Tooth signal is obtained by power from a button battery. Im not sure how often it will need replacement. Thought it ran off 12v dc source so take that into consideration. I deducted 1 star for each of the following. Button battery was dead had to purchase local $5. No mounting hardware provided as stated in manual as included. Poor description of blue tooth feature or CR 2032 battery.

A little quirky to set up but seems to work well. I use it to show the status of the third battery in the back of our truck that I use for the accessories when we are camping. The battery is separated from the main batteries by an isolation relay and I wanted to make sure I could see that the battery was charging correctly when we were under way. About 15 feet from the sender to our phones and it works fine.

Worthless with out an app. And the app is not found in the app store. Unbelievable that they cant see their way to make their product work properly.

Was very hopeful of this product. The app to use this was difficult to find in the app store. After going to the company website I was finally able to find the app. Took way to long to figure out how to sync app to device via Bluetooth. After an hour of trying to download the app and syncing I gave up and ordered an old school digital reader.
