Mokume gane is A Japanese term meaning "wood grain metal". It is an ancient technique which was used to make the intricate patterns found in samurai swords. It is a delicate art of layering different kinds of metals together and forging out the subtle patterns that give the wood grain effect. It's a marriage of metals to say the least. The ring pictured here is a subtle contrast of Palladium (dark grey) and Sterling Silver (shiny grey). This is 17 layers of metal alternating between palladium and sterling silver from top to bottom! Each one varies a little bit in the design...and every ring is one of a kind and totally unique. This technique is very dear to my heart, and I love making these. Each ring takes A LOT of time and attention so please allow 4 weeks for delivery. 6mm wide 1.5mm thick
