Excellent read for all who work with children, have children, etc!

Wow!! What an incredible must read for parents. About as close to a "handbook" for life and raising children in my opinion - that is remotely digestable from a common sense standpoint. And I am not the only one that thinks so; while on vacation just sittin around the pool reading I was approached by at least a half dozen women (cool in itself) simply to ask if I was enjoying the book as much as they did. Glad I bought the hardcover as its worthy of display and its a super easy read with larger print. So many fulfilling attributes and despite the religous over/undertones it all comes together to make pretty good sense to me. Although this book is aged, everyhting is still very relevant to current society if not more so now. Plus, its been a great conversation piece thus far!!

In a world where kids are getting started on relationships too young, where it's cool to be angry and curse and swear and where consumerism is the norm, I shudder to think about what my kids might grow up to be.I'm more conservative in my parenting, being watchful of what I expose my kids to, what I say in front of them and to them, and how I conduct myself. My husband, on the other hand is the more relaxed other half, who had felt that I'm thinking too much and this can sometimes cause a rift between us.This book has helped him to be aware of the world that our kids will grow up in and though we still have our differences, we now see things from the same perspective and he doesn't get edgy when I ask him to switch radio channel when a song that talks about sex and guns come on.It's also an easy read, not too thick, and engages my husband, who has difficulties in finishing books :)

Great read, but Definitely Not for Parents with Toddlers. This is a book for parents with kids or older kids. Honestly, it's very focused on what you do and how you act as a parent that will 100% affect how your child acts and who he/she becomes. It can be depressing at parts because you realize how many mistakes you have already done and how many things you are currently doing wrong. My son is only 1 years old and I'm still glad that I read this book because it helps me realize that I'm not ahead of the game in making sure that how I act is how I want my son to act. From the little things that we do, like cutting corners or trying to save a penny here and there, sometimes you cross the line and justify it as a "white line/lie". Ultimately, what would your kid think? As a Christian parent, I want to make sure that I do my best to influence my son positively. I wasn't raised in a negative home, but definitely I was raised in one that was filled with love. Culturally it is natural for me to think negatively first and see the glass half full, but as parents, it is our job to really raise our kids positively. This book helps. I recommend it.

Raising Positive Kids in a Negative World is a book that I recommend all parents to read before they even have a child. Being a devout Christian, Zig Ziglar addresses all issues in a totally honest and morally sound way, supported by Scripture. He emphasises how important it is for us as parents to have a positive attitude to bring up our children in a positive atmostphere. I am considering buying the Audio CD for this book aswell so I can listen to the recordings all the time, the message is so full you can't take it all in with just one read of the book. This book has influenced me to get down to the really important things in life, as Zig Ziglar says throughout all of his works, "You can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want." The best thing about Zig Ziglar and his works are that he is a living example of what he teaches, so you can trust Everything he says has been tried and tested over the years.Buy it, you won't be disappointed

I would recommend this book to everyone not just parents. This book will help you not only to become a better parent but also a better human being. Great read! I know I will read this book multiple times.

Once again, in the way only Zig Ziglar can, he brings positive common sense practices that we already know, but have somehow gotten away from, back to light and/or reinforces the ones that we continuously live by daily! Nice, easy and comforting read for everyone.

I was given this book when I was carrying my now 20 year old son. 3 kids later, I still consider this book a bible. I give it to any friend that is becoming a parent. My kids are the most awesome kids you will ever meet. They are sweet, positive, caring, hard workers,etc (Man, I sound like a mom!). I really get compliments of a great job done when someone meets my boys.Buy and read it. Things will click!

If you are worried about bringing up kids in this celebrity-obsessed world where morals and values seem to be sadly lacking, then this book gives you a sound framework for raising loving and settled, happy kids. I have 3 young kids [2, 4, and 6] and I can honestly say that I have tried the principles and that without a question they work well. We have happier kids, more of a loving relationship in the house, and I feel the kids are a lot safer becuase I follow these principles.This book is potentially, quite literally, a life saver. It also has the ability to greatly enhance your quality of life, because without positive kids your life is always going to be filled with worry.
