Easy read. I read in two days!

This was a beautiful story. I connected with this story bc someone I know was hurt the same way as Tempest…. But she never made it stop her from getting hers. Even though Tempest pushed Dame away, she knew in her heart she loved him as much as he loved her. Great read. It was more of a Beauty and the King story.P.S. I saw a lot of reviews were 1 or 2 stars… like how? But to each their own I guess.

1. I feel like a merge is coming... We got a character named Meek and one named Ayonna... NOT TO MENTION... these folks are in Chicago... I know this is a stand alone.... but I was waiting for a Freedom brother to pop out of a closet at any moment! 😩😂2. This book both entertained AND IRKED MY SOUL!!! Tempest had but ONE MO TIME to call herself a “beast” and reject that man before I either punched her through my Kindle app, or just closed and deleted the book all together. As I read each DUMB seen of her denying him, I physically felt my blood pressure rise... I promise I saw steam coming out of my ears! I’ve never had a book give me so much anxiety!! I was glad however that she kept it going once he showed up on her doorstep for a bit, cause if it would’ve just abruptly ended after DRAGGGGGGGING this story on this long, I would’ve been MADt! 🤬😩🤣Anywho... my girl my girl Jessica is always good for a good read, so I highly recommend, but jus come with plenty patience and you’ll be fine! ❤️

This book was fire. I loved everything about it. The characters were really good. I love Dame from the time I met him. Temp was doing the most she had me pissed off. Im happy she came to her senses. Temp stepfather and step sister got what they deserved. I wish it would be a part two.

This was a true love story and it brought some tears to my eyes. I fell in love with Dame and Tempest as a couple. I love that they were both vulnerable and that Dame was able to admit his love foe her from the beginning. The story was well paced and I got a true sense of the story line. Great writing

Baby when I say I just couldn't wait to figure out if Dame and Tempest would get there stuff together and I couldn't wait to figure out what was gonna happen with Dame's BM

I recommend this standalone novel to anyone who appreciates a "feel good" read. Although it is a love story, Jessica uses her masterful creativity to present a fresh telling of an old familiar tale. I enjoyed reading this modern fairy tale with characters with whom I could identify. Jessica Watkins is one of my favorite contemporary writers because each book offers its own plot with characters that are new and fresh in dynamic. I read this book in antipation of the release of HOUSE IN VIRGINIA 2. My only complaint is that it held my interest so much that I finished it in under 24 hours and now have three days to wait. Great job, Miss Watkins!

This book was fantastic I loved it from the beginning to the end well done Jessica keep up the good writing I’m glad Tempest finally admitted her love for dame. And Maya deserved everything she got she learnt that the grass is never greener on the other side

Tempest and Dame , such a beautiful story, I just loved it. I really wanted to find out about planting doubts in the kids head. So glad he was persistent to the end.Ready for the next book by this author

Good story. Its not my favorite by this author, but still worth a read. It s a real love conquers all story.
