Snug fitting, dense weave, ergonomic
As a long term fan and wearer of Bridgedale socks, I've occasionally found myself wearing footwear that is a little tighter on the feet for accommodating thicker pairs of walking socks.Enter Danish Ensurance. I bagged some pairs at discounted price and can report1. They are snug fitting. I took the large size for size 9, and even then they fit pretty tight. Stretchy enough to he comfortable but I wouldn't fancy wearing them if my feet were any larger.2. I have pretty slim ankles, and after a few hours walking I had quite prominent ankle lines from the socks depressed into my legs. Not too uncomfortable but for anybody with a bit more girth around the ankle area I'd think twice about wearing these.3. They are fairly warm for being relatively thin. I tried them with goretex trail runners which have zero insulation (apart from the goretex weave itself), and even on a relatively cool day around 4 or 5 degrees, the DE socks did a good job of retaining heat.4. The socks are designed well and have a good ergonomic form fitting shape to them. All feet are different but I imagine most shapes will enjoy these.Overall, value for the money, the 3 pack at discounted price is a lot better value than the equivalent Bridgedale retail price. The fit won't suit everybody, but for me, I will use these happily for long excursions in the wilds knowing they perform well, and if push comes to shove they are also plain enough to wear with shoes on a cold day around the city without looking too hillwalky 😀

Cheaper than Bridgedale's & very similar
Good value, decent quality with a nice snug fit. Usually buy bridgedale light hikers & these are very similar in fit, warmth & comfort. Great price & would recommend

They are a high performance hiking sock for every day
I've knocked a star of because they start to shrink very quickly after a few washes to the point that they are really difficult to get on and squash the toes. Aside from this they are very good at insulation and moisture control to the point that they provide warmth in the winter and because of the whicking effect they help cool your feet in the summer. They are durable and the design helps to add a little compression around the ankle for extra support. The wool is naturally antimicrobial which helps reduce foot odor. If you get these buy the size up as they will shrink to fit you after a few washes.

Cosy feet.
Good quality, well made socks.Kept my feet warm and cushioned all autumn and winter. The longest trek was 14 miles up and around Snowdonia in pouring rain, sleet and snow. My feet stayed warm and not a single blister.I have bought some more and they are well worth the price.

I no longer wear slippers indoors.
I haven't worn these outside yet, but I've worn all 3 pairs inside at least twice, and washed them all three times. They're incredibly comfortable, my feet do not get hot, or cold (my house is always between 20-24C). I have a tiled kitchen which I always wear slippers in during the winter, because the floor gets cold. I haven't felt the cold floor with these socks on, I barely notice a difference between laminate and tile. My feet feel warm all day with these, they're lovely, but they are a little bit slippery on my laminate flooring. I can run and slide into the room like marty mcfly. When the socks are washed, they come out of the machine almost completely dry, which is fantastic because they're not tumble dryer compatible. I bought another brand of merino wool socks (actually with higher percentsge of merino than this brand, but cheaper - £12 for 3 pairs) to compare. In a blind touch test, my wife chose these Danish socks as the more expensive pair. I also think these feel nicer. These also come with a 1 year hole-free guarantee, so hopefully they're durable. I typically walk anywhere from 7k-15k per day.I bought on sale for £25/26 I can't recall. I'll buy more when they're on sale again, if they keep my feet warm outside. These are the best socks I've had in my 30 something years. Are they worth the price? I think so, but as with anything, don't spend above your means. If you can comfortably afford them, and you want warm socks, get them. The colours are nice, too.

Best hiking socks for sweat and comfort
I wore these every day in 20°C + humid conditions, hiking for 5-6 hours daily for a week and got no blisters, soreness or any discomfort. My feet are susceptible to blisters due to sweat buildup, even doing a few hours hike in other socks would give me blisters and discomfort but these socks are remarkable.

Very good socks, high merino content, comfortable and manage sweat
I wanted something a bit thinner than my normal medium weight Bridgedale hiking socks and these popped up on offer, so thought I would give them a go.As with any new socks I turned them inside out and washed at 40C then dried, mostly to get rid of any fluff that could gather and rub and cause blisters.Really happy with them, they are thinner but did actually feel warmer, I think due to the higher merino content.Feet didn't get too hot and sweaty. No hotspots or rubbing points, so I'm really happy.Shame they weren't offering a triple pack of red, but DE were very helpful.Easy to wash and dry quickly.Really good socks.Size 9-12 fitted my size 10 feet nicely, the leg is quite tight but I'm sure will loosen with wear and washes.

Much smaller than stated
Just tried on the UK size 13-15 intending them to be used over thinner, inner socks for hiking (I take size 12 footwear and prefer the 2 sock system) and they barely fit on their own! No way are these size 13-15. If you are undecided on sizes defo go up!Quality seems good on all three pairs and obviously can't comment on durability straight out of the packet hence 3 stars. At least they come in paper bags rather than plastic.
