My poor boy, one of his anal glands ruptured and it required him going under anesthesia for irrigation/clean out. The Vet stated he must wear that hard plastic collar for 7-10 days. After 1 night, I couldn't deal with how badly the collar itself was affecting him, physically and emotionally. A few examples, he was running into everything because it blocked his side vision. He also kept getting gross soiled cat litter and more on the ends of it when he would try to turn around and cover up his business. Also he couldn't clean/bathe himself, had a difficult time eating out of his bowl and sleeping comfortable. It was very hard for him to find a position to sleep. The plastic collar placed by his vet was the correct size, that wasn’t the issue, its just that it had zero flexibility, blocked his whiskers and it was opaque. I knew he needed something from licking or messing w the area that required healing but the collar the Vet provided wasn't working for either of us. When researching I found this product and it worked great. He was able to see (nothing blocking his side vision), able to use his whiskers for navigation, no more running into anything, the litter box business wasn't a problem, able to eat/drink out of his bowls, was able to at least clean himself a little and he used this collar like a pillow to support his head when he laid down. I would remove this collar a few times a day while I supervised him so that he could clean his whole body and not take advantage of licking the area that was healing. I would definitely recommend this product, as a cat mom it is so hard to see your baby suffer and this was so much better. 1. It's easy to take on and off, just slide over the head. 2. There is a way to loosen or tighten the neck area, very quick and easy. 3. You can wash it. 4. All the other reasons I listed above, eating, navigating, sanitary, sleeping, etc.My boy is around 11 lbs. and I went with the medium sunflower. I hope this helps for anyone that is in a similar situation, preventing your cat from licking/ biting their lower region. Note- I think it says somewhere under the description that it doesn't prevent your cat from messing w their lower area but it worked for him. I read a few successful reviews that this collar worked for cats that were just spayed/neutered, that is one of the other reasons I made this choice.

We purchased this for our kitty to prevent her from obsessively licking her tail while some scabs heal from flea bites. In the past when we have used a cone she gets really disoriented and it affects her balance which makes her a bit depressed. This seemed like a great alternative. She can walk around fine, although she is a little nervous to jump with it on. She has only been able to slip it off one time on her own. It has done a good job to prevent her from chewing her tail, but she is sometimes able to get to her tail if she's in the right position. She may tell you different, but I think she likes it a bit - it serves as a good pillow 😇

The media could not be loaded.  I needed a cone for my cat because he has chin acne that he kept picking on. This is the third cone we tried. It is really cute. I had a previous cone from another company that looked like a sunflower and this fits the same vibe for my cat.I was worried when I first put it on because it seemed lumpy and deformed. Overall, this is okay. The important thing is I don’t want his legs scratching his chin.This, overall, works. I’m still watching him to make sure the product is effective. He was able to escape out of it once. I tightened it a little because of that. No other escaped have occurred.PROS:•Cat is unable to scratch his chin so far.•He is able to groom his legs, though. (A positive for me but depends on your cat’s problem)•Able to eat just fine. He moves the bowl a little. I help him out by putting the bowl against the wall. He only spills just a little bit of kibble.•Less tendency to dip whole cone into water. It’s much easier for him to avoid putting the entire cone in water. This was a huge benefit for me because my previous cone was annoying. It kept soaking up the water, making his chin worse.•Comfy for my cat to sleep inCONS•Does look a little deformed a bit. One of the rounded petals is face inwards compared to the others•Not waterproof. If it was waterproof, it would be perfect. However, I do understand if it was, it would sacrifice comfort for the cat.•One escape attempt. Cat go out of cone a couple days ago. I think he got out by rolling on his back and shoving it off his neck.•The rope is annoying. The rope thing dangles every so often. It’s annoying because my cat likes to bite it. Also, I have three other cats so I find this to be a future problem.•When scratching, it tends to rotate the cone a lot. He isn’t able to reach his face so far but the cone rotates whenever he’s scratching.Overall, because the cone seems to not get wet when he drinks and he doesn’t seem to be scratching his chin, I am keeping the cone. It’s good, but not a perfect solution.

I purchased this cat collar for my small doxie and it has worked great! She loves it, naps on it constantly and although she can scratch her ears with her hind legs, she can't reach her incision in order to lick it. I am very happy with this product It makes it easy for her to eat and drink water, not like those hard plastic cones. Pic is one the way home from the vet and she's not too happy! LOL!

So much better than a plastic cone! My cat couldn't get it off yet it came off easily for me. She fussed with it for the first hour or so then accepted it and wore it for a week without incident. She had a little trouble getting underneath the dog gate so would sit and meow for someone to open it for her. She was able to eat and drink and do her business without any troubles or mess.

Far more comfortable for my cat than the generic cone of shame provided by the vet! 😂My cat had an abscess on his back and after surgery we were told he needed to wear a cone for 2 weeks. After 2 days of watching him struggle with the surgical cone and unable to sleep / eat properly I thought I’d give this a try. He seems much more comfortable and the collar still prevents him from licking and scratching the wound. He can still clean his paws though so I’d only recommend this if your cat has a wound on his back or tail.A much happier kitty 😊

Definitivamente este collar es mucho mejor que el cono, mi gatito de 7 meses se adaptó muy fácil, lo utiliza como almohada, y como no pesa, no se le dificulta el caminar. Hay ocasiones en las que se contorsiona y casi se alcanza su herida y lo tenemos que vigilar, pero eso ya depende de lo mañoso del gato, en general todo muy bien con el collar.

Nothing to dislike. My cat is 100% happier with the new soft collar on. She hated the plastic cone of shame. She is more mobile and her whiskers aren’t bent anymore and she can reach her food more easily. Has to be up there with one of my best purchases this year. Great quality and looks so damn cute

Super cute and he seems comfortable, like a nice cushy neck pillow. We have had to sew the edge of one petal which became weak after a few washes but it was and easy fix and it is still brilliant!

Looks cute, after 1 day there are some hole in the fabric. My cat is a bit wild and scratched it a fews times. But it's a portable head pillow for where-ever she goes. very cute indeed.
