Q: Could I throw this in the dishwasher? Could I use it to wash dishes?

It’s not stiff enough to wash dishes. It is for the skin, a very gentle way to suds up and rinse. I’ve had this ‘scrubby’ for about 2 years and no bacteria has grown on it. It is not plastic, it is silicone which resists bacterial colonies. I have other silicone kitchen scrubbies that have never gone funky on me. I wash them out - not in dishwasher- and let them dry out in sponge drain. Don’t put silicon products in microwave.

Yes. Be sure to use a lot of soap and lather it up well. My loofa did not lather at all but this not only lather well, it feels gentle and effective on the body.
