This red ceramic yarn bowl is cut with a large past through heart and a small heart hole. It is handmade of buff stoneware clay and is wheel thrown and trimmed by hand in my own studio. I cut the opening out by hand. Then I smooth all the edges, to ensure the yarn does not drag on the surface. The glaze is a cranberry red glaze. It is fired to cone 6 (2290 Deg F) in an oxidation environment, for durability. It measures 5.5 inches across at the top and 2.5 inches high and holds an average skein of yarn. The last picture shows the bowl with a full 3.52 ounce (100 gram) skein of 4 ply yarn, which shows this bowl's capacity. It will make a lovely addition to your everyday life.
