Only tool needed for repair was a quarter inch drive 5/16" deep socket with an extension rod and spinner handle(screwdriver). There are excellent on line, how-to videos available, watch one first. I was going to wait till morning to replace a badly working fan assembly, but mine totally died at midnight during the blizzard. I was so relieved that the job went so well; I was done in 30 minutes. Th new fan is so much quieter, I don't even here the furnace start until the main blower fan kicks on. The price from this vendor was less than 1/2 the price of most of the competition.

After trying my furnace this fall, it would buzz at startup and then shut down with a flashing code indicating the pressure switch was stuck closed. After a bit of troubleshooting, I found the original vent fan to be completely locked up. Found this one and ordered it. Fit was identical and everything went together with no issues.I wish I could say it was easy to install, but it takes a bit of disassembly to do so. That is not the fault of the part, though. One thing that struck me right off the bat is that when it runs, it is so silent! The original never was that quiet in the entire time we have owned our home. (4 years)More than anything, I am quite pleased with this fan. Fit was perfect. Performance is excellent. It is just a bugger to install. But once it’s in there, well, my furnace has never worked as well as it does now. That alone is easily worth the five stars!
