My tilapia seem to like this food just fine. The 700 gallon tank has about 100 fish, all from the same batch of fry, that range in size fromabout 4 inches to 7 inches. The big boys hit the larger ( 5/16" ) chunks as if they are bass, jumping clear out of the water asthey bite and seem quite satisfied after just a few chunks. For the smallest fish, even the 3/16" pellets seem to be a bit much, sowe use a mortar and pestle to crunch up few pellets before each feeding. The broken chunks sink much quicker than the wholepellets allowing even the smallest fish to feed through the entire water column. As with any food, it remains quite easy to overfeedand our tank water remains a bit cloudy with a slight brown color. We are also experiencing slightly acidic conditions as acombination of this food and the biologicals in the grow bed. PH is manageable with various PH raising chemicals.My only complaint is that I can't seem to find the 50Lb bags. I have ordered 2 more buckets of this product even thoughthis is an expensive way to buy this product and I don't really need the nice bucket and opener.Update: The tilapia like this so much that they jump out of the tank hitting the food. One large fish jumped out a few days agoand landed under a grow bed where we could not see him. His dried out carcass will make some expensive fertilizer under thetomatoes. Another landed outside the tank while hitting this food but flopped back into the water. I have had to build a safetynet around the tank to keep any more from jumping out while eating this.
