Muku Shuttr - Selfie Remote / Camera Shutter for iPhone, iPad, Samsung, LG, Android and Nexus - Frustration Free Packaging - Black

I was an early adopter of the Muku Shuttr and loved it until the battery died. Replacing the battery with a new one does not revive this product in that there is a serious design flaw in the circuitry. It seems that Muku made the decision to let the consumer eat it once the battery died rather than going back to the drawing board and doing it right. If you have one of these remotes you may be able to prevent the device from permanent failure by replacing the battery before it goes dead. I have written to Muku Labs multiple times in the past year asking for an explanation but have never had a reply.

Before Christmas when everyone I knew had Iphones, including me, I ordered another "selfie" product for Christmas presents for family and friends that would only work with Iphones. The day after Christmas, I switched phones and it wouldn't work with my new Samsung. Long story short, found this and immediately ordered it. It arrived so quickly, and was so easy to pair up with my new phone. I have had trouble in the past pairing accessories to my tablet and phones and was a little doubtful/hesitant at first. It is very sleek looking and I wondered how it was going to work! Right away when I paired it up, it worked immediately. It is really great to be in the picture with others and not have to "stretch" to press the camera button. Also, a great feature is that it has no wires to get in the way of taking pictures. One reviewer had mentioned that the switch to select either an Iphone or Android was rather difficult to figure out after the little marker was removed. That was easy to fix. I put a dab of paint to mark the android switch. I have attached it to my key chain and take it with me. As for taking movies, I haven't mastered that yet or perhaps I just don't know how to fix it. It appears you have to start "recording" manually, but you can stop movie mode recording with the Muku Shuttr. There are some cons to this product, but nothing that would prevent me from purchasing it again, or regret my purchase: 1. The price was a bit high. 2. There was a little stand included with the package for one to be able to have the phone stand up without leaning the phone up against something. However, the directions were not clear where to insert the prong to have it stand up. 3. Don't think it can begin recording movies with the Muku Shuttr, other than these cons, would have definitely given this gadget 5 stars, and would highly recommend it to others. Great product. If anyone can figure out how to begin recording movies, please let me know. Thanks.

Great design. It's sleek and stylish. It fits on a key chain. Sadly, it is waste of money.The only time it ever worked was when I initially tested it. For the past several months, I've been thrilled with the purchase, just knowing I had this spiffy remote in my pocket. The problem is... it never gave me any benefit... and now that I've had some time to devote to trouble-shooting, it looks like it simply doesn't work.I read the "instructions." I watched the videos. I tried everything. It said it was paired but not connected to my iPhone. The documentation suggested "forgetting" this device and re-pairing. It will not pair again. To rule out my phone, I tried to pair it with my husband's iPhone. Nothing.Perhaps the battery was low? I invested in new batteries. I tested. Nothing.I did note, that the inside didn't even really look like the one in their video for changing the battery.I just tried to return it, but Amazon won't do returns after 30 days. So I'm out about $40 plus another $5 for batteries that were not the problem, anyway.I wish the folks at Studio Neat would make a remote shutter device. I bet theirs would work.This one is cute. But other than looks, it is a complete failure and waste of money.

Just received this remote to use with a Galaxy Note 2.1.) It is so tiny, which is awesome. Doesn't seem or feel cheap.2.) The instructions are clear and concise. Within 60 seconds it's up and running.3.) It works, just like you would want and expect. Easy Peasy.4.) No software to download. No external module to plug in. No App. to worry about. Just pair it the first time, using with your bluetooth settings on your phone, and you're good to go.I am so impressed with this little unit. Had bought another type of remote recently, where you had to plug in a receiverin the headphone jack slot, then stand close to take a photo.NOT so with this. All I can say is : WOW.Works with either taking photos (one push of the remote button), or with the video recording on my phone ( one push to start and one push to stop). Could not be simpler.For the ease of set-up, size of unit, and doing exactly what it is designed to do....it's a winner.

Got the Muku Shuttr last week and spent all weekend testing it out. Took less than 5 minutes to get it connected with Bluetooth on my Galaxy S4. So fast and easy! Love the phone stand too. I can prop up my phone on a table or other surface and take group pics. I wish the remote came with a ring on it already so I didn't have to track one down in order to put it on my key chain. Also wish there was a more convenient way to carry around the phone stand. It's so small that I'm afraid I'm going to lose it. The little bag that comes with this remote is kind of silly...Tried another remote shutter for about half the price of the Muku and couldn't get it to work with my Galaxy S4 so it's sitting in a drawer. I wish I had just bought the Muku in the first place.
