I received these items in an exchange for an honest review and I must say I LOVE them. The wood is smooth and of the greatest quality. I would not hesitate a second giving these as baby gifts or using them in an infant daycare of classroom. Each material is strong and safe for infants. In my home, these are used by my special needs daughter who is developmentally much younger than her age. She loves putting the egg in and out of the cup over and over again. The interlocking discs are fascinating to her. I love the natural quality of these items.

This is a wonderful open ended tool / toy that is perfect for babies and toddlers. I absolutely love that it is such great quality and made out of beechwood. I highly recommend this for any home, day care or school. It is great that children can develop naturally with high quality toys at such a great price. I plan on giving this set to every mama I know. I received this product free of charge in exchange for an honest review. The first impression was excellent; the packaging and presentation were lovely and very "natural" (presentation is important to me since I would consider giving these as gifts for new babies). The interlocking discs are chunky and sturdy, perfect for grasping by little hands. They roll slowly and smoothly (which is great for a baby just starting to crawl) and have a nice weight. My daughter wasn't very interested in them because at 10 months old she's more interested in walking than crawling, but for a younger baby I think they would be a huge hit and a good way to get them interested in moving.My daughter was immediately attracted to the egg & cup. At 10 months of age, it was the PERFECT toy for her current developmental stage. She was very concentrated as she tried to fit the egg in the cup, and she went to the toy again and again. She also liked combining the egg with other toys, like putting it in her nesting cups, so that extended its use. The egg and cup fit very well in her hands and also had a nice weight to them (not flimsy).I noticed that they seemed to be made out of two different types of wood (or at least two different finishes, since the shades varied). We have tile floors, and after a few days of play both the egg and the cup both had some slight scratches and nicks on them. It was especially obvious around the rim of the cup. It didn't bother my daughter in the least and I'm sure this wouldn't happen if your baby's play area is carpeted, but I just wanted to mention this.Both toys look very attractive on my daughter's toy shelves and are a great addition to our Montessori toys. Overall I was very pleased with the product and will keep it in mind when making gifts for my friends' new babies.
