Excellent bluray
I like the films, but my review is meant to point out the vastly superior viewing experience with these blurays, as compared to the dvds put out by Polart. Polarts dvds are close to trash, whereas the production values (video and audio) of these blurays are very good. I would also note that the aspect ratio of these blurays is 2.35:1 (not 1.78:1, as noted above), making them truly widescreen.

Very Good Pike and Shotte era Historical epic
Very enjoyable Historical Fiction Epic, set in 1630s Poland. I stress fiction; It’s based on a famous novel - which I have not read - but the historical backdrop is true. It has everything; Action, romance, humor, and of course political intrigue. Some things seem silly, like the hero’s too-obvious ‘plot armor’ that allows him to survive wounds that kill everyone else. But I can forgive that. For fellow Americans, this disk will work in your standard Blu-Ray player. However, in my case, accessing the english subtitles from the discs’s menu isn’t working correctly. Use your remote after the movie starts to switch to English subtitles.

Excellent DVD
Viewed this DVD for Polish History. This corresponds to the second novel of the trilogy by Henryk Sienkiewicz.

Classic
This is not as flashy and elaborate as "With fire and sword" by the same director, but given the period in which it was made, it is still a work of very good quality. The print unfortunately is not very good, probably because of the low-tech filming. However the story, dramatization, etc are wonderful. It is a long film but very engrossing indeed.

Disks were scratched
The dvds came loose in their cases and unsurprisingly covered in scratches edit: upon trying them they miraculously did still work but their still scatched up

Four Stars
A good insight into Polish history, a little difficult to follow in some places, but overall a good story.

One of the Best
One of the classics, that everyone should watch, even the poor quality ass it is. Too bad that company doesn't have money to properly restore one of the best pictures of all times. Real shame.

Perfect!
In the past this Film on TV had a snow like quality. I was worried. However, this DVD is perfect. clear visual and sound. A delight to watch and own. Of course the film itself is wonderful, extremely well acted and the subtitles are easily visible. Accurate to the novel, this DVD is a worth while addition to any collection.
