I've been on a quest to find a vit C serum that's actually effective at combating the discoloration on my cheeks. I started with the "holy grail" Skinceuticals CE ferulic, and quickly realized that was not at all worth the price ($170!!!). I moved onto Vivant Spin Trap because they introduced me to mandelic acid, which I've had success with. This product was similar to CE ferulic, but it wasn't shelf stable and had to be in the fridge. Inconvenient, especially for travel. Even though I used it pretty quickly, it got all crusty and a little funky in the fridge after a few weeks. After a full bottle, I saw zero results. I moved on to Truskin Vit C Super Serum (for $24!) and let me tell you, that's where it's at. I'm 2/3 through the first bottle and I can already see a difference in so many aspects of my skin. Plus, I switched to The Ordinary's Mandelic + HA for $6 a bottle and had far better results than Vivant's mandelic. Proof, effective skincare doesn't always have to break the bank.

Great for acne, dark spots, and a bright, even complexion!
Over the years, I have used countless creams and serums, ranging from drug store brands to expensive department store products. This product was a gift from a family member, who swore it would help me with my cystic acne and hyper-pigmentation issues. I was skeptical - but she was right! I don't know for a fact if this is what stopped my acne and inflammation, but it definitely seems to have helped my skin overall. The instructions say to start use every other day, but I used it in the morning and at night and didn't experience any sensitivity whatsoever. My complexion is brighter, and dark spots seem to fade quicker. I'm not sure this really helps with anti-aging or diminishing lines - before this, I was using Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Therapy every night, which did seem to help with fine lines more, but only temporarily (they'd re-appear if I stopped using it for a few days, so I think it was more hydration than anything else). I suppose there is no reason both can't be used = but if I had to pick one, I'd pick Spin Trap!
