Solid aluminum.Only 1/4” thick, so I didn’t have to shave off bottom of the door.Reasonably easy to cut down to width of doorway.Comes with screws to affix to floor.Wheelchair glides right over it.Definitely recommended.

I needed a bigger threshold in the doorway off from my kitchen. My new puppy tore up the carpet trying to get into the door. This did the trick! Big enough so that the puppy will have a hard time getting to the carpet on the other side. Nice price and good quality. I had to cut it down to fit the doorway, but nothing a hacksaw wouldn’t fix.

This was bought to use in the installation of a new door in the outside entrance to my basement. I had to have a portion of my basement wall removed and rebuilt and we had the cellar entrance rebuilt at the same time as it was failing as well. I needed to close the cellar entrance area off from the rest of the basement to help with heating and cooling, but I didn't want to put in a standard size door in case we wanted to take large items in or out of the basement, so I opted for a 42" wide door, but it had to be shorter than the 80" standard, so we bought a slab door and cut it down to fit, but I needed a way to seal it, so this threshold with a rubber sweep was my solution for the bottom. It works fantastic, but it was so tough that we wore down a cutoff wheel on a grinder about halfway just cutting it off to length. It is not solid 1/4 inch, it appears to be extruded aluminum, or it could be milled from a solid billet. Either way it is very tough. The screw holes appear to have been done by a punch press or a very rapid drilling or boring bit on a machining center as the holes are not clean on the bottom side, but it doesn't affect anything. The finish is pretty good, but will be easily scratched. This thing should last forever in the application I am using it. It would work very well for a threshold for any high traffic area especially if you have double doors. I wish I could have found this in a shorter version, but with a little work it was easily modified for my project. It is mostly flat and easy to work with, very rigid, relatively light, and extremely tough.

Great product for the price. Unfortunately, ordered 36" and received 36" 3/8. Be prepared to cut. I used my multitool with a metal cutting blade.

I rebuilt My front door threshold and could not find this piece anywhere...Amazon to the rescue. It was shipped very fast, it is holding up very well. Best on the market and a good price. Thanks again, Amazon.

This threshold did exactly what I needed it to do. Notches to fit around the door frame were easy to do with a jigsaw and metal cutting blades. Didn't realize until I was done that there are specific aluminum cutting blades available. Regular fine tooth metal blades quickly get clogged by the aluminum.I combined the threshold with a piece of sill nosing to provide a better visual transition to our outside steps. Only complaint was the 'included' fasteners for the threshold were missing. Luckily I scrounged around and found ones that worked and look good.

I installed some new tile in my entryway and when I went to reinstall the original threshold it was too high and I couldn’t close the door. I found this one and after easily cutting it to size and installing it, I was able to completely close my door. This height in threshold is not available in big box stores.
