Natural Elements Hessian Onion Preserving Bag with Blackout Lining, Tagged

OK, it does have a bit of a strong hessian smell to it. You can not wash it in a washing machine. I thought the smell would go away, but it didn't. So I ran it under the shower for a bit and let it dry out. More of a typical hessian smell after. Anyway, rather than use the drawstring I layed out two tea towels (in a ' + ' shape), and wrapped the potatoes in that and then placed in the bag. This acts as a better blackout, an extra and washable liner, and you don't need to use the drawstring - so less fiddly, you can more potatoes in too.It does seem a bit pricey, but it is well made.

Don't understand the negative revues as I've used these & other makes for years . Right - these are not freezers - they just help keep potatoes for longer . Just grown my first potato crop , washed them , DRIED THEM ! properly then in the bag & I STILL put them somewhere dry , cool & dark & I've had NO problem . ....right -6 months later - all my own potatoes remain dry & perfect !

Terrible buy, potatoes sprouted within a few days after a couple of weeks several were rotten.. had a potato bag before which lasted several years, kept potatoes fairly fresh for 3/4 weeks some up to six weeks, only reason for ordering a new bag was the old bag material was beginning to rot. I think the material was hessian.

The potato Bag does exactly what it says on the lable. I have had mine a couple of weeks now and it is keeping my potatos fresher than I can remember for a long time. Due to it very dark lining the potatos don't sprout so they stay firm and fresh. It is well made and I think it will last a considerable time. Highly recommended and a very happy customer.

A great potato storage option, I cannot understand why some buyers are complaining about the smell, it's hessian for goodness sake, hessian has got a smell, I quite like it, the smell will disappear after a couple of days, so stop whinging......! 10/10
