great quality yes..BUT...
Its a bit on the expensive side, but great tasting product, fresh and a beautiful taste.I have been very naive in the past, buying the once imported from China, never again. They may be a lot cheaper but I believe we can not trust the Chinese growers what they use for pesticide and other poison in the soil. China was discovered to have put led in our children's imported toy...However, in the bag I received there has been many pieces of some very very hard materials, i am thinking it must be from the shells ? You could break a tooth or a crown that's hard they are and not just 2 or 3, many at this point.. which makes this packaging very unexceptionable.. sorry...Otto

How Many Brands of Pumpkin Seeds Do You Know that Are Grown in the USA?!
From an early age I knew about all the great health benefits of Pumpkin seeds. Some of them are:- good night sleep- anxiety relief- anti- inflammatory- improved bladder function- bone and heart protection- intestinal parasite removal- improves hair growth- great source of zinc. But I have been simply avoiding eating pumpkin seeds for a long time as 99% of them are grown in China. Being a health- conscious person that eats exclusively organic foods for years it just didn't feel right to me eating Chinese pumpkin seeds. It took forever to find organic pepitas that are grown in the USA.Wilderness Poets Pumpkin seeds are organic , raw, unsalted and grown in Oregon. They taste great. The way to test if seeds or nuts are really raw is to look at your hands after eating them. Seeds that were heated at high temperature will leave hands oily.I will be buying more in the future.

Exceptional!
I eat a lot of pumpkin seeds, if not every day then several times a week. I always buy raw, and organic. When I got towards the bottom of my last bag, I decided to see just where the pumpkin seeds I eat come from. I found that most come from China, as although pumpkin itself is popular in some Chinese cuisines, the seeds are not. I realize that even if grown in China, in order to have the USDA Organic seal, they have to be grown according to those standards. However, because I prefer to support businesses and industries in my own country over others, especially smaller concerns, and because I object to the forcible usurpation of the will of the majority of Hong Kong, the evil being visited upon the Uyghur Muslims, and my general opinions about the CCP regime and everything associated with it, encouraged me to see whether or not other options were available. That's how I found these!I don't know whether or not it's because I just cracked open the bag, different cultivation practices, the fact that they're heirloom seeds, or what, but these are DELICIOUS! A genuine cut above what I'm used to. They're tender and crunchy at the same time, and I even enjoy the quirkiness of the different colors of the seeds, rather than the uniform army green to which I'd become accustomed.Yes, they're a little bit more expensive, but not by much. And for a purchase that both feels good ethically and tastes good, it's worth it!

Disappointing if you are looking for real Austrian Pumpkin seeds
These seeds are not as good as real Raw Austrian pumpkin seeds. I have been consuming Austrian pumpkin seeds for over 15 years, since I lived in Vienna. The authentic Austrian seeds are a dark green color, plump large seed, that are recommended for men who are bothered by enlarged prostrates. I have found that regular consumption reduced the frequent nighttime urination pressure significantly. Unfortunately, although they are still available in Austria in 40kg and smaller packages. Whole Foods and MOM’s used to sell authentic Austrian seed, but discontinued carrying them about 2 years ago. So now the US market is flooded with pale green small pumpkin seeds grown in China. The real thing is near impossible to find, except for one vendor I’ve found on Amazon whose product is old and dried out. So I tried this US seed grown from Styrian pumpkin stock. Unfortunately, what I received is inferior to the original. Half or more of the package is filled with white seed, and there are lots of inedible stems in the package.

Organic and grown in the US of A!
My herbalist who is in his mid 80's and studied in Europe has the same opinion as I about foods from China, avoid them. I asked his opinion which mirrored mine. Organic from China on labels sends a warning to me as I think of all the US pets that were poisoned by melamine added to their foods to fool the analytical equipment into thinking the protein content was higher than it was.The raw pumpkin seeds from Widerness Poets were the best I have ever had. Should you buy some and have been using whatever seeds from wherever compare them. You will see what I mean. Fresh, larger, varied color through the seeds than what I see in the stores. The quality is there. I have trust in these seeds being organic and they are the best tasting pumpkin seeds I have had.
