I use this in a small round quarantine tank. It keeps the water crystal clear, i have one plant in it that is thriving. Highly recommend.

The product is the good.The only problem is the air pump is not included and I need to cut the tube because its too long for my fish bowl.

I've seen a lot of negative reviews. This thing works great IF YOU LET THE BIOLOGY DEVELOPE! Its not an instant gratification filter. Its a biological filter and takes a few weeks for the beneficial bacteria to grow in gravel bed ( yes you need an air pump and a good amount of gravel) for the cycle to develop providing the biological filtration. Best to set up the bowl a few weeks ahead. I've got 1 gallon and 2 gallon traditional fish bowls set up with live plants and a single fish or shrimp and its clear as a bell with very little maintenance. Ditch the plastic plant its useless, ugly and will probably damage fins. I also use an thin airstone in the uptake tube instead of connecting the airline to the port behind the tube to product smaller bubbles. Also the carbon cartridge isn't necessary once the biology is working.
