Can this paper run through a printer?

Could you layer this paper and see through several sheets? I am hoping to have my students do a project were they build layers of maps they can see.

Is this the standard weight Pacon paper - 40 g/m2?

I want paper to transfer images from printed pictures to wood. Would this work?
