This was a described but I like my old one more. I would like more of a 90 degree angle and it could be a little sharper but good for what I need.

awkward to hold. the slanted shape is not as ergonomic. the blade also doesn't cut very well. the average free promotional slitters you get out there are much more effective.

Not a Good Value
This product is tiny. It does measure 3.25" diagonally but for $7.99 per opener, it's a poor value. I've seen these for 1/3 the cost.....same quality. Buyer beware!!!

If you're papercut prone like me....
Cute and functional! So, I have a superpower. It's a pretty useless superpower: every time I attempt to open a a sealed envelope, I manage to give myself a papercut. Envelop paper is thick, torn edges don't give papercuts -- so how on earth do I manage it? I have no idea. Your guess is as good as mine. Add to the fact that most of those envelopes hold hefty bills that I will soon have to pay, and it's like a one-two punch. KO, I'm down. Bleeding and empty-walleted, how much worse can it get?So, yes, this is just a piece of plastic with a blade stuck to it, but it saves me a lot of grief. Sure, I'll still be empty-walleted at the end of the day, but at least I won't be bleeding! Thanks, SolidJoy; I never knew I needed a proper letter opener in my life until now. This is like the sunglasses to my Scott Summers, except I'm protecting myself from the world rather than protecting the world from myself.- Also, just to note, before getting this letter opener, I did attempt to find one at both Staples and Office Max. Like another reviewer has noted, these are nearly impossible to find in brick and mortar stores!!Et voila. Can't really go wrong with a letter opener, but here's my vote of confidence to let you know that this letter opener is as good as any other. If you have a similar superpower, I'd suggest getting it for yourself and saving yourself a world of trouble.I received this product in return for my honest review.

Great little letter opener
So, I have been looking for a letter opener for about a month now since my last one broke. You really wouldn't think these would be that hard to find, but apparently, unless you go to an actual office supply store, they are!I ordered this because I really didn't feel like carting 2 wild kids into an office supply store and couldn't find a single one at any of the big box stores. I am very glad I did! Not only is it a nice thick quality plastic, it does the job required of it with no issues. The blade is extremely sharp and I have yet to run into a problem getting it to cut. It is thick enough plastic that I don't fear this breaking anytime soon. I imagine I will dull the blade too much to continue to use before this letter opener breaks. This is a very simple, yet wonderful little tool to have around the house. Especially since there is so much junk mail that comes now days that you simply can't "unsubscribe" to like virtual junk mail!I personally hate the feeling of opening a letter with my fingers. To me, it's the equivalent of what most people think as nails on chalkboard. I'd rather hear nails on a chalkboard than open a letter bare handed. For me, this is a godsend.I would recommend this item to anyone who wants to save their hands opening mail everyday, or just wants to make their life a little easier.I received this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. All information I have stated above is true and honest and no discount will ever effect or compromise my review in any way.
