Smells fresh, no hint of rancidity. Finely divided. Not quite a powder but getting there. I'll be mostly using this as a substrate for Saccharomyces Boulardii, and maybe some wild, that will become sourdough starter. There is literature on line about beneficial metabolic end products of this combination so why not? Especially if it tastes good.

I use this to make "nuka-zuke" Japanese bran pickles. I'm so happy I found this simple, affordable product which is perfect for my needs. I did not want to use the pre-made nuka from the Japanese grocery store because it comes seasoned and one of my family members is soy-sensitive, so I want to control the ingredients, avoid MSG, etc.(I also highly recommend making nuka-zuke pickles! You toast the bran, mix with salt and water and whatever seasonings you want, and bury veggies in the bran. You mix it up by hand every day. Once you get it going, you can put little pickles, skinny carrots, chunks of cabbage, whatever into the bran and, depending on how firm the veggie is, in 1-3 days it is a savory delicious pickle. Yum!)

I was charged well above premium price for this product--and a $9.98 shipping fee--only to receive the products with an expiration date of 6/24, a mere five months away. Now I'm informed this is a "no-return" product (not posted anywhere during the purchasing process).

I purchased this for it's health values - planning on adding it to my protein shakes.When I looked at the "powder" I was thinking it would taste like chalk.To my surprise, it has a wonderful nutty flavor. Nice addition to my shakes.I will continue to purchase this product.

I add a quarter cup total per day in 2 equal feeds for my horse to help his skin and coat. It is palatable to him and works well with stabilized milled flax added to daily ration. His coat and skin ( prone to itching) improved with a month. I feed this year round. I can't find it in Canada so do pay a shipping and product premium but it is worth it.

Great taste - good to add to baby food or senior smoothie for complete perfect food.
