Product arrived on time,in perfect condition.This is a gift for my brother.I turned him on to TD in the 80's.He liked it very much,so this is for his collection.He also enjoyed Klaus Schulze Live that I gave him for B-day presant.

A good companion to Tangerine Dreams earlier Virgin records collection. Glad to add it to my music library. Worthy buy

I'm sure any ardent collector or those who are aspiring for an MA or Phd in TD music must have all the virgin catalog in different releases be it in LP, cd, cassette, 8 track etc. But for anyone who is always on the move and would like to enjoy this collection in the car or out of earth, this comes in handy.7 albums in 5 cds and in one case the more convenient it is. Sound quality is close to the 1995 definitive remaster. The booklet details exact information taken from the individual albums plus an insert sourced from the encore LP sleeve. No new material except A and B sides from Encore and Thief or 4 additional tracks. One downside is the exclusion of the soundtrack Thief. It depends on anyones preference but Tangram and Logos were split into separate discs much similar to the original LP. A good buy for new collectors who don't have the cds yet. Suitable for travelers or those working abroad and left their collections back home. But for those who have a permanent address, there is no need, it will only be redundant. The A and B sides are very similar to the original only shortened. The next project should be the Virgin soundtracks by TD, now this will be great and something to look forward too.

I cannot stress how great this set is. A great primer for most but also a great first step in committing to the recent, more expensive box sets. This is great, timeless music.For those fans who are reasonably intrigued by the music of Tangerine Dream in their prime (arguably) - "The Virgin Years 1974-1978" and "The Virgin Years 1977-1983" are perfect low cost alternatives to the more expansive but costly premium box sets "In Search of Hades - Virgin Years 1973-1979" and "Pilots of Purple Twilight - Virgin Years 1980-1983".For most music lovers these 2 bargain priced sets are all the TD they may ever need. For those completists among us, they are the perfect first step in committing to the premium box sets.

For 5 cd's the price for this set is $15.00, (as of Oct. 2020), and THAT is sensational! The first couple of discs had pieces that I greatly enjoyed, but also had, how can I say this, a bit too much 'heavy metal' sound in places. Disc number 5 is my favorite of music you can play while driving, or tripping. Disc 5 is the Tangerine Dream steady propulsive music I've grown to enjoy. Don't miss out on this great 5-Disc Set!

Definitely a great place to experience Tangerine Dream's material from the late 70s and early 80s. Wish they had a box set of the bands movie soundtracks but maybe one day that will happen.

This is a great box set of seven of Tangerine Dream's albums spread over 5 CDs. I've only ever had these albums on some TDK cassettes that my friend had recorded for me off his LPs when we were at 6th Form college in 1984 still got them but I thought I'd treat myself and it was like going back through a time warp to a happier time, friends did that back then, streaming hadn't been invented and money was tight. They are still as great to listen to today and really are some of their best albums which is saying something seeing as they have done over 100 studio, live and soundtrack albums in their 51 year history. An excellent introduction to Tangerine Dream if you are new to them, highly recommended by a long time fan of theirs and was lucky enough to see 3 of the original line up in concert.
