Don't use if there are hard little crystals in it!
I used this last summer for the first time and had no issues with burns on my kids - loved it. But this summer (same bottle) my kids have been burned each time! Then I found this information from the manufacturers wbsite that another reviewer had posted...If my sunscreen has some clumping, will it still work?Yes. Temperature variations during shipping occasionally cause CLUMPING in Badger sunscreens and this does not affect the sunscreen's safety or level of protection. We tested our sunscreens with and without clumping to ensure protection. In most cases, the clumping is caused by the crystallization of Shea and Cocoa Butter. This is similar to what might happen in a chocolate bar if it is exposed to extreme temperature variations. When you apply the sunscreen to your skin you will feel them melt right in.***Note: If the little clumps are really HARD and GRITTY, they may be the Zinc Oxide particles clumping together, and this could potentially affect the level of protection you are receiving. If this is the case, please check the expiration date to ensure that your product is still good. If your product has not expired, but exhibits the hard and gritty clumping, please contact our customer service team for a full refund or to exchange products.***New Formulas! We have removed the Shea and Cocoa Butter from most of our new 2013 sunscreen creams to avoid further clumping.I had no crystals last summer, but this summer I did notice them. Found the info above, checked my exp date, and it expired 2 months ago. Bought a new bottle (and there are no crystals in it) and it's worked wonders again. It does have a smell that I can't quite place, but it is not bad per se, and unlike other reviewers have said I don't find the smell to stick around. I don't find it any greasier than conventional sunscreens and it runs less when you get a little sweaty. As long as youhave an unexpired bottle without the crystals it should work just fine - we love it!

Very thick and filmy but good for acne?!
I bought this for myself because I have moderate acne and wanted a natural product with organic ingredients. Putting chemicals like those found in popular sunscreens/face products didn't appeal to me at all, but I wanted to prevent acne scars from darkening so lo and behold Badger Baby Sunscreen.Personally I think this smells very nice sometimes and other times it smells like Tyson chicken nuggets. Who knows why? It definitely is hard to rub in and it can leave a white film on my olive colored skin. However, I spend about 5 minutes rubbing it in to my pores and anything left over gets lightly scraped off with a cotton ball before I leave the house. Like people said before, a little goes a LOOOONNNG way. I will add that I don't think they advertise it as non-comedogenic, but I have yet to break out.Actually, I think because of the high level of uncoated zinc oxide in this, it has helped heal some of my acne. The last two nights I had a lot of nuts and banana and I think I have an allergy to both that causes cysts in my forehead and below my temples and tiny bumps in my cheeks. I put on a face mask of this stuff after I cleansed, then I went to sleep. When I woke up, my forehead cysts were way smaller and there were less little bumps. I think I may be zinc deficient because of how well my body reacts to topical application, so I've just ordered some zinc supplements. If you have acne/sensitive skin, I would recommend you give this a try. If you have olive/darker skin, it's definitely something that's going to leave a trace if you're not meticulous about rubbing it in. It is very thick and has lasted me over 2 months with daily application.

EWG Verified. Great Sunscreen- does its job!
Disclaimer: No conflict of Interest. Does great job as sunscreen. It is among few sunscreens that is highest rated on safety by EWG. I did extensive research and narrowed down to this one. Why this one? Because they are older company comparing to others, have variety of sunscreens. I use it when I know for sure I am going to be exposed under hot sun for extensive periods of time. I do not use it for intermittent sun exposure , as it is greasy and can leave stains on your clothes. When I use it, I will apply it and then wait for at least 30 minutes to go out so it is not as greasy. This is the only downside. However, you will find that this is the case with all “safe” sunscreens. I have yet to find a non-greasy ,but yet minimally harmful sunscreen. All sunscreens are harmful some are more some are less. There is no such a thing as 100% non-harmful sunscreen. This is the area I have done a lot of research by reviewing extensive scientific literature. I have been searching for safe, non-greasy sunscreens all over the world, I have used every type of sunscreen available on the market. The ones that are not greasy are harmful. From what I have learned so far, 100% safe and non-greasy sunscreen does not exist as of yet. You have to choose between using very effective, greasy but minimally harmful sunscreen or using ineffective, non-greasy and very toxic sunscreen. These are the only two options available as of yet when it comes to selecting sunscreens. I am giving it five stars because this sunscreen does its job as promised and is among few sunscreens on the market that has minimal risk.
