interesting new idea, great new heroes
This is the 4th crossover pack, and it adds a very new concept to DC deck building game. This pack contains 6 oversize heros, 6 challenge cards, 11 main deck cards, 5 mastermind plot cards, 5 loyalty cards, 4 villainous machinations cards, and 1 rule book. The new game mechanism is a hidden traitor role. This play 1-5 players, but of course you cant use the new hidden role solo, but you can add all main deck cards to any game, and the new oversize heros aren't just for this crossover pack, they work in any game. Depending on number of players you deal out loyalty cards, and one person is secretly a villian. There main goals are to either run the main deck out, or make sure the other players fail there missions. There are 3 level of challenges, and each level has 2 cards, you randomly choose 1 from each level. And like the crisis game, you have contribute certain cards to succeed, and during the challenge there are set backs, such as, oversize heroes are considered blank, and so on. Each play can contribute to succeed even the secret villian, in order to throw people off. The new main deck cards all pretty much help dwindle the main.deck pretty fast. Also if during any players turn if they dont buy or gain a card from the main line up, they have to put out and extra card from the main deck, so players cant stall the main deck. Once a player exposes himself as the hidden traitor they have there own goals theybare trying to pull off to slow the other players down, or try for the win. Each player is dealt a mastermind plot card at the beginning but only the traitor can try and put there's into play by completing there villainous machinations. Once the traitor completes the goal on this card there mastermind plot goes into play. The villainous machinations card is public knowledge and is dealt face up at the beginning of the game. This little pack adds alot to a great game already. I really like the traitor card, the new oversize heros are great, and the rules are very clear. The downside is since this is there first try at something this different it's kind of wonky, I wish the new main deck cards were a little more versatile, and the mastermind plot cards are extremely hard to accomplish. That being said, I own every expansion, base sets, and crossover packs, and this is one if the funniest. I have to give this game an 8.5-10. Great heros, great new mechanisms, great addition.
